Baby fish that is.

After the raid of the Blue Heron who ate most of my fish for the second time. I decided I would not replace them. A few small fish survived who remain well hid under the pots and plants.

The pond was in pathetic shape, shoes off, it was time to get into the pond and do some cleaning. With net in hand it's time to clean this pond out and fertilize the plants. With every scoop checking to make sure I don't discard snails, I see baby fish. Tiny little silver fish less then a inch. Oh happy day. I must make sure to keep the netting on and protect them from the Blue Beast.

You go barefoot into the pond? No watershoes?

Yes I go barefoot, actually never thought of using water shoes. It's a little slippery at first and a little startling when a frog hits your leg.

Last year when the liner sprung a small leak, I had to remove everything from the pond. There is a small shelf on the back side. I usually step on this shelf then into the pond. My Granddaughter Caoilinn still talks about the time I fell into the pond. The shelf gets a little slippery so I need to ease my way in. Little by little in and out removing the plants into a holding tank so I could drain the pond and find the hole.

I got a little careless after 5-6 trips. I went flying off the shelf into the pond. Glasses one way me the other. I'm sure it was quite a site. Caoilinn and Deidre laughted their heads-off from the deck, at the site of me sitting in the pond. Not quite sitting almost lying down. A little slimy but not bad on a hot day.

I'm a little more careful these days when I get into the pond and the only time I was a little hesitant about going into the pond was when I had the snake.

That's a good idea....or ...a sexy floral wet suit!!! Mamu could carry it off, she's very glamorous.

Oh Mamu, I'm glad too that you weren't seriously hurt. Glad you are being more careful.

That said, I can now giggle at the image you described. The grandkids are gonna remember that for quite a while! LOL
