I have another wedding related question.

I wouldn't state the relationship at all. Why bother? The people who are close enough to care who the attendants are already know, and the rest of the guests usually don't care.

I've never understood the need to pass out a roster for a wedding party; they are not the cast in a play. A program that states the order of the service is perfectly sufficient, if you need one at all. I've always gotten along just fine without them.

I did call him "guy" in my first post! You know, I really don't know how to refer to him. Obviously he's not just some "guy" I'm living with, we've had a long term relationship--we live like a typical husband and wife do and we're both involved with all three of our kid's lives. Actually, most people we know refer to us as husband and wife. We've just never actually gotten married.

I think I like the idea of using either step-brother or brother. I will suggest to my daughter that she choose one of these options--so long as she's comfortable with that.

I appreciate the responses! :thumbsup2

If she considers him a brother I would certainly have no qualms about about listing him as step brother. I'd even put him as brother if she wanted. We don't care for the word "step" around here. My Dh refers to my DD has his DD. IMHO most everyone will know the "legal" situation, but this is an opportunity to definte the love situation.

How about *brother at heart* to the bride

We don't acknowledge "step" relations in our family. Everyone is just family! My "step" nephew is as much my nephew as the one who is related to me! Could you ask the brother what he would like to be called?
