Thom got way behind on daycare (and didn't tell me until he was $1600 behind.) So, last week I watched the kids on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Bobby had a cold (and his asthma was acting up so he got breathing treatments and is much better.) I knew he had a cold but he's so irresistible that we snuggled and gave "kissies" anyway. I started feeling like I had a cold (sore throat, etc.) on Sunday night. On Monday, Thom's new girlfriend watched the kids and yesterday, his dad watched them until I picked them up last night. I woke up at 1 this morning and couldn't catch my breath. I didn't wake my parents up (I was at their place) and eventually did catch my breath. I told them this morning that every time I coughed (which I am doing a lot of) it felt like I was being stabbed in the chest and it made me light-headed as well. Then I almost passed out when I brought the kids to my place this morning (I live on the third floor and there's no elevator.) My mom made me go to the doctor and he gave me Prednizone and Albuterol. He wanted to put me in the hospital but since I don't have hospitalization insurance, he compromised and told me to come back tomorrow or the next day. I did manage to find a daycare for the kids and go see it this afternoon and they will be starting tomorrow morning but when Thom offered me $100 to watch the kids tomorrow and Friday so he wouldn't have to pay the daycare $140 for the two days, I turned it down because of how awful I feel. I feel guilty about not watching the kids for him (the money was no big deal to me), but my parents think that I did the right thing. I'm still not so sure, though.

If you're this sick, Becki, you definitely did the right thing. You don't want to give this to the kids (though Bobby may have been the original source, it sounds like you're reacting more seriously to it).

I know it's hard, but yes, you did the right thing. *hugs*

Sorry you aren't feeling well. I hope the meds get this cleared up soon.

Sounds like you are really run down. Hope you can get some rest and the meds kick in soon.:D

if you don't start feeling better soon, you'd best do what the doctor says and get yourself admitted to the hospital.

four years ago I had such a bad case of pneumonia that I spent four days in the hospital on steroids, antibiotics and a nebulizer treatment. I thought it was "only" bronchitis. when I was admitted, I had "tachycardia" -- my heart rate was frighteningly rapid -- because I was dehydrated, being so ill that I didn't eat or drink for four days. this is NOT something to play around with. trust me, Becki, you don't need that.

when you're feeling better --- obviously Thom has a problem vis a vis day care that needs to be addressed.

Wow, you're ex wants to pay you to babysit your kids!?!?!?!

That aside, I've always taken care of my DD even when I've been sick. Even though I might have felt close to death, taking care of her is my responsibility, illness or not.

I feel guilty about not watching the kids for him (
Watching the kids!?!?!?!?! You don't watch the kids....THEY ARE YOUR CHILDREN!!!! That is taking care of them, not watching them.

I hope you feel better soon so you can spend some of your time off with the kids. :)

How are you feeling today Becki?

Very light-headed and I'm still coughing a lot. Also, I seem to have picked up a stomach bug (or else it's a side effect of one of my meds.)

My DW and one of DD has asthma. We have our own neubulizer that is a life saver during asthma sessions. You might check with your doctor. A breathing treatment with a neubulizer if far more effective than an inhaler.

I had bronchitis turned into pnuemonia, sinusitis and they think a torn maniscus in my knee... :(
Wish I could get a break, but have had to be mommy and work the entire time. I go on winter break tomorrow and am hoping to get a little rest, but with the holiday and all that has to be done, resting will go on hold for now. I am on antibiotics, a nebulizer and crutches, though I hop along more than using them as I fell twice using them...lol. I know it is hard, hang in there.

I hope you feel better.
