I have not been on a plane in so many years that I can't remember much about it.

We are using Delta and our reciet has seats listed on it. Does that mean we get those seats? I am worried, because I have seen all the posts about boarding and not getting to seat together.

I realy need to seat with my 4 year old. My dh needs to sit with our 8 year old (she is realy scared) and our older one is scared and wants to be near eith dh or me.

Most of the time you'll get the seats that are on your receipt. Once and a while the airline may reassign you at check-in (particularly if you booked quite a bit in advance), but I see no reason you won't be assigned seats together. And in the worst case scenario, most of the time if needed someone will move so a family with kids can stay together! :goodvibes

As someone who flys almost weeky, the previous poster is correct. You'll probably get the seats you were assigned, but a swich to a difference plane or other factors could result in reassignements (it only happens to me about 1 in every 20 flights). For families, the airline will do their best to acommdate you, but it can be hard to manage on a fully booked flight. It's up to how willing other people are to trade seats - and some people are just not willing to give up their seat (esp. if it would mean they'll have a middle seat). I have been on a plane sitting next to a 3 yr old whose mother was across the aisle (I offered to swap, but she had another child with her, and there were only 2 seats on my side. The person on the other side was not willing to give up their window seat. Best way to avoid - check in online the night before. This may mean that everyone in your party needed to be signed up for FF miles (but sign up is free). You can then go online, check in, and know if there will be an issue. You can even print your boarding passes in advance. If there is an issue, and you can't fix it online, then arrive early. If you arrive 1 1/2 hr before the flight, you give the airline the best chance of working things out for you. Again, the odds of any problem are very low, and in all liklihood it would be worked out.

You should be fine. If you are worried, call Delta the morning of your flight and check to see if anything has happened to your seats. That way if there is a problem, you can start fixing it before you even get to the airport.
