I have a question about upgrades with Verizon Wireless.

I've gotten..three or four replacements for my env2. I'm very careful with my phone, I rarely ever drop it, around water I put it as far away as possible, and yet it still messes up.
The keyboard stops working, my screen goes blank, it vibrates by itself when no one is calling or messaging me.

If you have this phone and/or someone you know has this phone and has gotten so much as four or five replacements, did they get a free upgrade to a different phone?

My sister has an env3. She has had it since July and there hasn't been a problem with it. Verizon is pretty good with customer service for us, so they might give you a free upgrade.

I've had really similar problems with my Env2. Mostly, the front keypad will stop working. I'm on my 4th phone since first getting it last November. My latest replacement, the internal screen doesn't always work when I flip it open, and now it likes to shut itself off randomly.

When I talked to them, I asked the lady in customer service if I could somehow get an upgrade since I was having such a problem with this phone. She said not until I'm due for an upgrade (this November)

It stinks that they don't make exceptions if the phone keeps malfunctioning, but that's life I guess.

In general with phone companies, they'll replace your phone with the same phone you have or fix it and give you a loaner phone while you wait.
But you won't get an upgrade, you either get a phone when you're due for an upgrade, or you pay full price for a new one.

Well, they gave a Voyager for free to one of my friends, after his env2 messing up so much.

certain phones are worth other phones, does that make sense? if the give you a free upgrade, it will be limited to one or two phones. and since you have an env 2, it may be very limited, since that phone isn't very new anymore.

i've heard of a lot of people being able to get free upgrades, you just kinda have to talk them into it.

Lucky! I got the regular enV in May of '08 and it worked fine. But then this past June it started acting up so my dad and I took it in to get it just replaced or fixed. Turns out it was a software problem so they sent me to another store for a replacement since our local store was out of that model. When we got to the other store they said we "never put insurance" on our phones when we bought them (even though we had receipts w/ proof) so they said I couldn't do anything without being charged. They gave me the option of either buying a brand new phone on my account or using my mom's upgrade that was in effect for that time. Thankfully my mom didn't care if she got an upgrade or not so she let me use it. So now I have the enV Touch. I like it. It has it's moments though as to when it likes to be stupid.

But I'd say go in and talk to them. Maybe it's just a software problem? And maybe you'd be able to upgrade early or something. They'll figure something out. :)
