I have a memory, is it real?

So, I visited Walt Disney World twice in my teen years, once in 1984, and again in 1988. I seem to remember there being a talking parrot animatronic, perhaps outside of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Am I just imagining this, or was it real, AND . . . . if it was real, what happened to it?

There used to be a parrot/parrots outside of Mexico in Epcot.

The Enchanted Tiki Room is right across it with parrot audio animatronics right before you enter the theater. They were still there last year.

I know the ones at the tiki room, this as I remember it was just one, sitting on a perch I believe.

And, I guess I will answer my own question . . . should have thought to go to Google in the first place lol. According to Wiki http://themickeywiki.com/index.php?title=Pirate_Barker_Bird there was a "barker" parrot outside of Pirates.

Yes I also remember the "Yo Ho, Yo Ho" talking parrots outside the entrance of Pirates of the Caribbean, up on the wall there - is it gone??!!

Yes, sadly, it has been gone for years. After my visit in 1988, I didn't visit the world again until 2008, and at that point, it was already gone. Not sure exactly when, or why it was removed.

Pretty sure the bird was moved to the World of Disney store back when it was Downtown Disney.
