I have a Honeymoon reservation Question.

Ok, my wife to be and I have a reservation for the Animal Kingdom lodge. We have a Savannah view with king sized bed and it is booked with the words "honeymoon" on the reservation.

My question is, what should i expect if anything? I have read of people having there rooms upgraded, likewise ive read about honeymoon baskets and ive even read of free bubbly and a congrate's card signed by the staff. Is any of this true? Has anyone been this year to the Animal Kingdom lodge on a honeymoon out there?

Any example of what youve experienced or if you match up to this hotel and know what i should expect please let me know.

Feel free to tell your experiences with Disney staff on your honeymoons. Im curious what i should expect when i get there. We have the groom and bride ears that we plan to wear the minute we leave the house to go to the airport.... so i imagine they will know we are on our honeymoon along with most everyone else....

Side question: Ive heard they have just married buttons. Where do i get these?

I've read things like that too, but to be on the safe side, I wouldn't expect anything. There are no guarantees (as far as I know even a king sized bed is not guaranteed) so here's hoping you get your request and lots of pixie dust too!

You can have flowers and decorations delivered. Disney has their own florist, but you can also use Teleflora or Hallmark to send a surprise gift to your spouse. The front desk will have it delivered to your room.

i've read of people getting surprises and read of just as many others not getting anything special. don't expect anything and then if someone special happens it'll be an added bonus to your trip.

P.S. the King size bed at akl is not a guarantee only a request. you could end up with 2 queens.

we're staying at akl (concierge level) for our disneymoon and i'm just happy we are going to be married and at disney.

My wife and I recently honeymooned at the Contemporary Resort (theme park view) I requested a high level room to get a better view and we got that. On our first night, we received a call that a dear friend had a congratulations package for us. 10 minutes later a tray with some bubbly, chocolates, a signed Mickey and Minnie picture congratulating us on our marriage, and congratulation balloons was delivered. Apparently, Mickey and Minnie heard that we were honeymooning. lol

Be sure to wear your just married pins and you will recognized and at times surprised when you are in the parks.

If you dont mind me asking, where did you get the just married pins? I got the Mickey groom top hat and the Minnie brides veil while we were down in Florida last May, but i dont think i saw the pins.... i would have gotten them if i had. Are they in the hotel gift shops?

I wouldn't expect anything. I think you are better off that way. I expected so much after reading the boards and the only thing we got was a bunch of signed Mickey and Minnie pictures and a glass of champagne. I ordered my own decorations for our wedding night. I highly recommend calling Disney Floral and ordering the From Mickey and Minnie with Love package. It was amazing!!!

They're free at guest relations at every park. We were also given a pair at check in when we arrived at the GF, and a pair at guest services when we activated our AP's, so we finally had to start turning them down. We weren't wearing our first set as we checked in before the wedding, and didn't want to wear them until after our wedding 48hrs later.

We got a couple of small surprises, but not some of the bigger things others have reported, so really dont' get your hopes up. Mostly what we enjoyed were tons of congratulations!
