I must say, these things are quite the most annoying thing that I've encountered in a long while; perhaps more annoying than Push to Talk cell phones in public.

I went to the mall today with the family, and I saw people using them in the book store, around the food court and weaving though people walking down the halls. It seems like a large percentage of them are six year olds who have yet to master the use of these shoes and keep hitting into people and such. Anyone else share my disdain for these things?

I agree, they are totally annoying.

But be prepared for flames...this one will get hot.

I am glad my kids aren't at ages where they would want them because they would be SOL.

Uh oh...

I don't like them, either, but jeepers! Heelys threads are like opening Pandora's Box! Hope you've got your armor on. :)

I agree. I was at the mall a couple days ago, Macy's to be exact. Two young kids, I would guess roughly 8 and 10, were wearing them. Their mother was no where in sight. They were running, wheeling, etc through the 2nd floor, then down the escalator. Their mother was down on the first floor. They went flying past the makeup counter. I could hear two sales people talking about how much they hated "those things" and how dangerous they seemed.

We returned from Orlando last night and they were at Seaworld, at the hotel, at the malls, DTD, etc. I hate them!!!!! The kids kept running into people.:scared: :scared:

My DD asked me to buy her a pair of Heeleys.  Don't think so!

Just don't threaten to knock down any one wearing them..OK :duck:

Today in the mall, I watched a girl about 10 years old, zooming around on them. I had to chuckle when she skated right into her little brother & then BAM!! She hit the floor & started crying.

I just shook my head at the mother. :rotfl:

BTW, the little brother was fine...it was just the girl that was crying like a baby.

BTW, while at WDW 3 weeks ago, these were the ONLY thing that really bothered me. I only saw a few with them, but one of them was out of control, and in order to miss running into people he smashed himself into a turnstile.

Holy, moly. Here we go, pass the popcorn:: .

I don't think they are a great idea in public places either. DD asked for a pair when her friend got a pair and I said nope.

There was a little gril (about 8 or so) in BJ's Thursday. she would come flying around the coners as fast as she could. Mom was right there with her too.

I wouldn't dare knock someone over. However, if they fall down in a crowded public place, I don't think twice about laughing a little...

My favorite thing to do is weave in and out of crowds on my Heelys as I nextel my friends and family.

it's not the shoes, it's the parents that let their damn kids wear them in grocery stores, etc.

My 10 year old son has one. Loves them! I'm thinking of getting my daughter one too, she's 7 going on 8 in Feb.

As long as they don't knock me down or anyone else or knock anything, then I am fine with it. Nothing wrong with Heelys if you know how to use them.

We saw a lot of them at Disneyland this past week. One boy accidentally did the splits - he had no control!

Aren't they bad for kids' feet? Don't they have to walk differently to use the wheels or not use them?
