Spiceycat I was looking at that bidding page you posted.. it says there is an additional fee of $195 per person per week! That would be an additional almost $1,000 for the week?

One benefit of staying on site is the Disney transportation. If someone doesn't want to stay as long at the parks as the others or if the little ones need to go back to the room for a nap, it is easy to take Disney transportation back to the room. The others can stay in the parks and meet up later.
If this is basically a one time trip for your group and the prices are similar, I would stay on property.
