and I am not proud of it but I started smoking again about 6 weeks ago. This is after being smoke free for 8+ years. I feel and smell horrible. I am shooting for a quit date of June 10th so please wish me luck. At this point I am right back to where I started. My husband is so so mad, he volunteers as a quit smoking coach for the AMerican Cancer Society:confused: And he has no patience with me at all. The kids I suspect know something is up as I am always running to the mailbox.

Oh well, I thought it was for sure that I was a non smoker.

I am so disappointed in myself right now.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Hey, no use hitting yourself on the head for it. Everyone makes mistakes. Shoot for June 10th and try again. Better than giving in forever.:D

Not to try to sound too therapy-ish, but being aware of it and acknowledging it is a huge step. Best of luck to you...you can do it!
Might I ask though, after all that time (8+) years, what made you start again?

While you're shooting for June 10, make sure you give yourself minigoals like only x amount today and tomorrow one less so by the time you get to June 10 it'll be easier on you.

Don't beat yourself up too much. People slip up. At least you're already planning on quiting and good luck to you.

Oh man. It's been a little over five years for me and a week or two ago I almost ran to the store and bought a pack - a pack of Capri menthol. I often dream about it. *sigh* The only reason I didn't is because I knew it would make me sick as a dog the first few days and I just didn't want to go through that. But it's tempting.

One day at a time, that's all you can do. Keep going, no matter what. If the 10th doesn't work, try another day. The first time I quit smoking it took me almost 2 years of off and on smoking. You know why I started again -- because I was sitting under a palm tree at the CBR in WDW with a drink and I was so relaxed I bummed a cigarette! LOL! :tongue: WDW make me do it! ;)

Good luck to you. I'll be pulling for you.

Did you know that some studies indicate that it's harder to kick the cigarette habit than it is the heroin habit. :eek: It's the darn nicotine! :mad:

Good luck. I completely understand. {{Hug}}

Good Luck to you! Just think of all the money you will save by not smoking! :cool:
