What is the name for a quadrilateral that does not have parallel sides or angles that are equal?

Our guess was irregular but the teacher said that there was another name.

:confused3

does it have one set of parallel sides?? If so it is a trapizod.
If not, it is just a quadrilateral.

Info from DD who is a 5th grade teacher

I'm thinking a trapezoid?

If there are no parallel sides, it is a trapezium.

The problem says "draw and name a quadrilateral that does not have parallel sides or angles that are the same".

Trapezium is the term for a quadrilateral with no parallel sides and no equal angles.

Trapezium is the term for a quadrilateral with no parallel sides and no equal angles.

That's what my sister the math teacher said but when I looked that up apparently I got the UK definition and that said ...

" A trapezoid (called a trapezium in the UK) has one pair of opposite sides parallel.

It is called an Isosceles trapezoid if the sides that aren't parallel are equal in length and both angles coming from a parallel side are equal, as shown.

A trapezoid is not a parallelogram because only one pair of sides is parallel.

Language Note: In the US a "trapezium" is a quadrilateral with NO parallel side"

That's what I get for not reading the entire page. :upsidedow

Sorry!
