OK - hubby is a football nut, I like footy but can I can manage 2 weeks in WDW without it!

I was just wondering, is there anywhere in Orlando that shows the premiership games?? We are in POFQ so would be great if somewhere in DTD aired it! so hubby can go watch a game....if he REALLY wants too...(*makes mental note not to give him the dreaded glare*)

Thanks :)

I dont think you will be spoilt for choice! As far as I know, onsite, the only place that sometimes shows them is the ESPN club at the boardwalk.

There are lots of British "pubs" offsite that do show matches live, but with the time difference, it can be an early start!

Fortunately, my DH has zero interest in any sport, so its not something we have ever needed to research too heavily....maybe someone a bit more expert will be along soon!

Ye olde english pub at the Mercado on International drive show games. With the 5 hour time difference it may be better to watch one of the delayed Sky sports showings though.

this pub is called the royal oak and is still there as of november. they normally show them :)

There's an English pub called The George and Dragon (I think?), it's just past the Ponderosa next to Wet n' Wild, it gets packed for the big Premiership games, it even shows the Coca Cola Championship games so that long suffering Leeds fans can take their misery to Florida with them! There's also the Cricketers Arms further down International Drive but they charge an entrance fee for the big games.

Watch that pub in the mercado Last Dec i think they wanted $10 a head to get in,When i enquired about an arsenal game i said forget it
The 2 systems i had was thd day after the games wed have breakfast at Sizzler where they sell you The Daily Mail for 50 cents its $3 in 7-11!!
and my brother was emailing my account the results and Id feed the Slow hotel PC Dollar bills and check my emails
But I repeat watch the charges for the pubs,But in fairness i think the satelite link for them is not cheap!

back from PORSide not that far from POFQ, I and my eldest ds football mad but to behonest with you, soo wrapped up and busy while at wdw didnt really miss it.I know you could get copies of Daily Mail at Fultons gen store for results and reports. You can also access internet at Dis Quest or at the Innoventions Pav at Epcot ( though you do have to go through the pre set web portalfor sport).

Ah, suffering Leeds fans :). In September '03 I was riding "Pirates of the Caribean" and "Alladins Magic Carpet" at MK when I was getting text messages about Leicester winning 4-0. People were giving me very strange looks as I my son and I were singing "4-nil to the Leiceseter boys!" over the Alladin soundtrack!

Needless to say, I got all my footy news via text that holiday and will probably do the same again in February. Although I love football, I can do without watching a game for a couple of weeks :)
