) How much snow do you have?

Hi! Not OP, but I'm in Western NY, south of Buffalo. We got hit hard last night. My town got about 16 inches already. North of Buffalo & in the city, NO snow at all. Supposed to snow thru tomarrow.
Didn't make it to work. Lucky I made it home last night. There is a 9 -11 mile section of the thru way closed due to accidents. There are people stranded on the thru way since 8 PM last night. No time table to free it up either.
Talk radio is all over it, too. People are not getting any help: no food, water or rest rooms. There are hundreds of cars; people are running out of gas. And No answers from the Thru Way Authority or state troopers. Just "we're working on it"...
I was on the thru way & could tell it was really going to be bad. I was able to make my way off & go opposite of the way I needed to. Got to city streets & eventually made it home. I have been stranded several times before. Getting too old for that.
I hate snow, too!

Well that certainly sounds like a scary situation - all of those poor stranded people..
I'm glad that you're home though - safe, sound, and warm..![]()
I'm warm, but sore from shoveling!!

I'm in Lancaster, right on the dividing line of this band of snow. It's crazy on the south side of Genesee street where I am & nothing on the north side!Hi! I certainly wish it were that easy to just pack up & move away. If it were I would have been gone years ago.Sorry but if I ever got stuck in snow like that I'd be putting a for sale sign on the house asap and moving to Florida. I haven't liked snow since I was a kid and after the amount we has last year I would be perfectly happy to never see a snow flake again. LOL

The airport had 5 inches last night........we had 20. I could walk to the airport if I wanted!!!!! It's still snowing here & they said the snow watch is in effect until tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. YUCK, YUCK & more YUCK!!!.

me too, that is why I live in FL!! I don't know how you guys make it out of the house, although I am sure most northerners are used to it.

We purchased a condo in Florida last year & look forward to the day we can retire there, but it won't be for quite a few years.
West Seneca here! Near Orchard Park & Elma boarder. My DH wanted to move when we got married, over 30 years ago. I wanted to raise my kids near our families. Kids are grown now & luckily have gotten jobs in the area. Of course, that means we're stuck here forever.
Can't leave my kids!
And I thought I was cold! It's sunny & 52 here today and I am sitting with a space heater beside me.
I actually hate being out in the snow myself. We don't get much here at all but when we lived in Raleigh NC & in Lexington, KY we had enough to last me a life time. I don't know how you all do it. Stay safe & warm up there.![]()

I heard on the weather channel could get up to 40 inches. Yes, we are used to snow..but that much snow in such a short time is crazy.

Misery is always easier when you share it!
Hugs to them!
