I am starting to hate drs appointment days. today, we realized last night the pool conmtractort had forgotten to give uis the reciept for the pay off,, we payed cash,, 1700 down and 1700 on delivery,, no second recipt,, then at 9 am today the installers still havent made it to my house,, after telling us monday we'll be there tuesday pm and weds am,, they show up around 10 30 this morning, luckily dw's best friends was here to house sit j i c.. then after driving through heavy rains over half way across la and all the way across miss,, we get to hospital in jackson around 11 am,, get in line to see the first of my weekly surgeons,, the first surgeon( facial plastics recontruction specialist?) says that the expander that is almost 1/2 size of a brick( and feels bigger) is only about half full and needs several more injections before they move the tissue, soo he adds twice the amount we have been adding each week, and still wont tell me how much longer before we start looking to make lids work. then its across te complex to the opthamalogy dept, where we see the head of ocular plastics reconstruction he has been worried about my cornea being exposed and clouding over for the last few weeks,so today he calls in yet another dr,,( this makes number 5 on team) the corneal specialist ( guy who does all cornea transplanting) and yup you guessed it,, the cornea is so scarred now from over exposure that we are probbably going to have to do a transplant after the lids are operational,, anyway,, to lessen the continueing damage he recommends that if at all possible, they stretch the existing skin tighter, and sew my eye back shut for the week, and then next week after treatment,, yup sew it back,, so that it stays shut all week away from the office.joy joy joy anyway,, they then proceed to do electraloisis and remove this weeks hair g rowth, then plucked them all out after frying them, then i had to sit there and watch them stitch my eye shut again, this is getting old. on the way home,, while in pain from all the small things that add up each week,, we stopped at lowes to get a new back door,, my cat created his own cat door last week by breaking out a pane in the ancient french door that has been there for ever,, soo we going to have to replace it. get new door bought and discover its2 inches too long to fit inside blazer and back gate shut. we ended up driving home listening to Gate is ajar over and over ,, thelast hour of the trip:) also was during hottest part of day and with back door ajar,, all te ac was outta there needles to say we wwere happy to get home,, even more so when we discovered that the pool w as installed and filling with water, that the dd had cleaned house for us, even did laundry :) now i guess we get to change out doorr, well dw does i get to watch:) get new deck finished around pool run a few more outdoor electrical items, and we are in bussiness:) cant wait to get into pool:) am sooo ready for just one quiet relaxing day.. ( wanna bet there are 15 kids here in morning before we get up? we have only pool in neighbor hood)

Oh, Froggy!!

You have to drive all the way to Jackson *every week* to go through this kind of torture??!

Nothing can be easy, can it? Continued good wishes to you and yours.

EEK! It's enough to make ya crazy I tells ya!!

That's quite a list of things for one day........glad you made it home safe even though the car kept talking to ya! :p

yup dw drives at least7 ours each week in one day round trip over to ummc in jackson and then home agian,, and i cant help with the driving , drs wont let me yet. today was worse we added an extra hour to go over to monroe la to lowes and get a door,,lol,, we counted over 40 times i was needled today only,, and today we had long waits in both drs offices, today we were still in chair after 3 pm,, ussually we can be home by then if we have a good trip.

oh i know we are on the way to being better,, just gets frustrateing on appointmwent days when dw does so much for me and i cant help her at all:)

But you do help her, you help around the house while she works. :D Besides if she didn't love you she wouldn't still be with you.(I know someone whos husband left after she got real sick).

Hey froggy,
I just wanted to tell you that you are one heck of a guy and I for one find you inspirational. I think you and your DW should: A. write a book or B. become motivational speakers when this whole ordeal is over.

I have 4 kids and one of them has a minor eye problem that is only monitored at the Storm Eye Clinic of MUSC. We only have to go once a year but that is often enough for me to be reminded to count my blessings. Just her annual checkup takes the better part of a day. What you guys go through is worse than grueling!

I am so glad that this online community exists! You may not realize how many people are pulling for you everyday. Most of us don't have time to respond to every post with words of encouragment- (Well maybe Dan Murphy does but I don't think he sleeps). It just isn't possible for a reader of one of your posts to NOT shake their head and say to themselves "How does this man do it!?"

I'm going to send you some Happy thoughts today Froggy that you have a much better today than yesterday.

Fix yourself a glass of iced tea and enjoy it out by the pool. Maybe you could tell the kids to go home and you could just enjoy your pool in peace!

PS. call that shady contracter and tell him to mail you the second receipt or your going to call the BBB, put a stop on the check, write a letter to the editor of you town newspaper about him or something else that will scare the pants off him.
If all else fails, your cancelled checks are your reciept. Put copies of them somewhere safe.

okay just reread the OP and I see that Froggy said "paid cash" so I take back my comment about the cancelled check being a receipt but I still think he should call the contractor (nicely the 1st time) and request a receipt "for his own records" or something.

Froogy, Your wife took you for better or worse, with eyelids or without. Right now is the "worse part" the better is on the way. I am sure you already do, but a simple thank you goes a long way. Even though she does it because she loves you it still feels nice to hear those two little words.

Ok I couldn't stand seeing all the typos so I took over the typing for froggy.:badpc:... The contractor wasn't being shady he just forgot to tell the crew to mark the copy of the contract paid when they came to deliver the pool. We already called him about it and he was aware of the situation and has already put the reciept in the mail to us. I don't think we will have any problems he seemed to be a nice guy and besides being in the contracting business and running a crew I can understand how he could forget something and let's face it the crew knows one thing get the job done and don't do anything that the boss don't specifically tell you to do. I have had some guys work for me that if I didn't give them a specific time to be back for lunch they would be gone till 3 pm. I even had one guy that I told to pick up the tools and put them away pointed indirectly at one particular tool and guess what that is the only tool he put away. Of course those guys don't work for me anymore,:teeth: but then neither does froggy :p :teeth: froggy does thank me reguarly he is a one in a million and I would not trade him ...... (well maybe for a few hours with mell gibson) :teeth: :rolleyes1
