I had to turn the heat on

I've got a little house and for once that's a good thing. I'm on the budget plan and I'll be alright until January, that's when they check to make sure everyone is paying what they should.

We woke up to a chilly 62 this morning in our house. So it was time. But I just filled our oil tank (it was already half filled) and it cost 270.00. That'll be it till about March. I keep our house at about 64 all Winter and only have to fill the tank twice. Brrrrrrr.....the New England winter is coming.

we are gonna load up on the blankets this year!! Those natural gas prices are gonna go thru the roof & we can't let it interfere with our WDW vacation budget!!

Exactly my way of thinking also!! No heat here yet, though it does get pretty chilly in the monrings

I'm also one who is holding out until November 1st or even the 15th if possible. Our upstairs is still warm, but the main floor is a a somewhat open floorplan. I pulled the storm windows down and I actually had to close my bedroom window. I usually leave it open a tad for fresh air, but I had to close it quickly when I went upstairs last night.

I'm also going to get new insulated curtains for the living room...hopefully that will help (if I can keep the kittens from climbing on them!!!)

Thank goodness for down comforters!! I too am on a budget plan and will be cringing when they access my usage!

Keep warm everyone!!! :sunny:

Last week for me. I just don't like being cold. :cold:

We still have the AC on. Might get a bit cooler tomorrow. Our high was still in the high 70's or low 80's today.

No heat here. It's still really warm down here. We still have air on. I guess I moved out of the Northeast just in time. Everyone is saying how the gas prices have skyrocketed. I just have to worry about hurricanes now :guilty:

Stay warm!
K

I was out of town the last few days and when I got home, they had turned the heat on! I was holding out until the 1st of November, but since I was gone, they turned it on!! At least its only set on 68!

i put mine on this am heated up the house and then turned it down again
just had to get the chill out

Up here in the mountains at the lake it was in the 20's last night and they're forecasting the same for tonight.. Was in the 40's this afternoon and won't get out of the 40's tomorrow (plus it's going to be raining).. So - yes - I've had the heat on.. It's electric heat and this place is real small, so it warms up pretty quick.. Last night was the first time I left it on all night and I'll probably do the same tonight.. Tomorrow I plan on doing a lot of baking and that should help curtail the number of times the heater goes on..

I'm on the budget plan and will be leaving here in a week or so - at which time I shut the main breaker off - so cost-wise I should be okay..

'Course if the power goes out for some reason my DD and her DH will have to pry me out of here with an ice pick... :rotfl:

No heat here. In fact AC is down kind a low tongiht. I think it's hormones. DH is freezing. tough....get a blanket...... :rolleyes1

I'm holding out as long as possible. Living in SoCA it seems easier than those of you on the east coast but it's getting cold (for here). I have lots of sweatshirts to be worn around the house and a down comforter for my bed. This weekend I'm going to get a down throw for the living room, plastic for the windows and a blanket for the water heater (it's outside). I've also located a lot of receipes that require the oven or stove so I can cook and heat at the same time.

It got pretty :cold: here as well. I also had to put the heat on! Oh, I just hated to do it. It is cold and rainy here. Wish I where at WDW.

We had to turn ours on early last week but still that was later than other Falls for us. I am dreading our heating bills this winter!!!!

My school is holding out, which is fine. We're still running fans in the room because we like to sleep cold. Only problem was yesterday morning around quarter of 2 when we were coming in from the 30 degree night in our pj's, because someone had set the fire alarm off burning popcorn. Then it took a looooong time to stop shivering. But overall, I don't mind them holding off.
I know mom's trying to hold off too. I don't know whether they've broken down yet or not. I do know that they managed to lock in at $1.99 a gallon, so they're pretty happy. My dad has turned the heat on, sort of. He installed a central AC this year and it also has a reverse thing that allows it to produce heat instead of cold air. So he's running that to avoid using oil. He's happy.

Turned ours on a few weeks ago...temp is set for 65..

we don't have central heat and air (old house, we plan to put it in someday) but when we moved in we bought air conditioners and little space heaters. My air conditioner is on 24/7 to keep my room cold, and I NEVER use my heater. I actually took it out of my room. I can't stand a heater to be on around me. :confused3 So right now my aircondioner is still on. lol BTW, my bed is under my aircondioner, and that thing will stay on all through winter. So I guess I just like to be cold.

freaking cold here ...brrrrrrrrrrr but we are going to hold off as long as possible.
