I had set up to rent points at BCV next April, but with Molly probably needing surgery, I had to cancel the points. The DVC owner was kind enough to cancel our contract with out any problem. Very nice person. I guess I will be at a moderate or value next April instead of BCV. O well, maybe next time.

Sorry to hear Kim...And sorry about Molly.

Look at it this way...You'll still be at Walt Disney World. Staying at a value or moderate resort is much, much better than not going to Disney World at all.

Awww, I'm so sorry.

I just saw your other post about Molly's surgery. How is she doing?

pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: I hope you get good news from the doggie dr.

The sacrifices we make for our furry kids. Hope she is feeling better real soon.

I have a similar but happier issue going on. DH and I booked our first BLT stay for NYE week this year. We've been SO excited. Last week I found out I was 8 weeks pregnant.... my due date is 12/25. This is about the order of my reaction :cutie::scared::lovestruc:eek::yay::scared1::sick: (ok the last one is morning sickness, just to be clear). So we're cancelling our first holiday trip and our first trip at our home resort. The good news is we bought DVC to be able to take our kids some day, just didnt' know we'd have a kid for the FIRST DVC stay!

Best of luck with Molly - we'd do the same in our house!

Congratulations. I will be aiming for POFQ for next April. Not that POFQ is a bad thing, it is my favorite moderate. And I don't think I can stay at a value. I'm just not a value kind of girl. :cutie:

Congrats on the New Edition! We had the same thing last year... I had booked a trip in December the week before Christmas, getting back on the 21st. I called everyday to book a BCV studio. Maybe two weeks after that, we find out my wife is Pregnant and she'd be 8 months on our trip... Even though we borrowed points, we sold the reservation on Ebay and put the money towards all the stuff you need for a little one.

Now we are going in October when she will be 8 months old... Can't Wait! Plus, as much as I love Disney, she is much better than a trip to Disney anytime! :-)

I can relate... The whole reason we bought DVC was so we didn't have to stay in Value resorts for the next few decades... In fact, it was an hour bus wait at park closing and STILL nowhere near getting on the bus (which is also why I have going to Disney in the Summer, plus it was Star Wars Weekend), that made us do the tour. We crunched the numbers and since we like to go once a year for 9-10 days, it made sense to us. Still don't regret it. The Value resorts are nice in that they are inexpensive and on property (although Swan and Dolphin are probably the best value for the money on Disney Property, IMHO) and allow those on a budget to enjoy the magic of being on property. I just don't want to stay there again. Port Orleans is a nice resort... I love the Riverside Antebellium Mansion Buildings... I wish there was a lot more theming like that at some of the newer built hotels.

Congratulations! In my book, parenthood is the greatest, hardest and most rewarding job you will ever have.

I am with you - To paraphrase Kevin - when you say "value resort", I think Wilderness Lodge!:lmao:

How about Swan or Dolphin? They have some fabulous rates available and they are definitely deluxe quality. I love being able to walk to EPCOT or DHS and the Boardwalk area is as close to nightlife as WDW has now. I hope Molly is ok - I know all about doing anything for a pet.

Kim, i am so sorry to hear it. big hugs to you and Molly. I know we would do anything for our two girls (boston terriers) too.

disprincess, congrats! now you can look forward to taking your little one someday- and believe me, the time passes quickly. i remember having our little guy and thinking, wow, i wish he was older so we could take him to disney- now he is 19months and we are going in Dec. so enjoy the time- it flies! :thumbsup2

The last few years is one of the biggest baby booms ever in this country.

2007 and 2008 were massive and 2009 is shaping up the same way.

I get to stay at BCV. A very kind Dis'er has rented me points at a reduced rate!!!!! I will have a split stay, starting at POFQ, my favorite moderate and then 5 days at BCV.

This is the best community on the WEB.
