I had my tarot cards read... and got teased

Yesterday, as a bday gift to myself, I had my tarot cards read.... I have gone in the past, in fact, I have gone to this woman before, and I have always been pretty impressed with the info she knows and how the stuff she says is relevant to my life and she has been dead on with some stuff that has happened after my last reading. I really do believe some people have that 6th sense or are pyschic in different ways (and no, I am not a nutty person, I am a very normal person) and it fascinates me. DH teased me about going, he actually said she probably kept notes from my last visit (you just give your first name, she has never even known my last name..... you know how many Jens there are in the world?!!?!?!?).

The first time I went to her I wore no jewelry to indicate my relationship status and I had never met her before... She knew I worked in a hospital (she said "you are not a nurse but you directly care for patients", which is true), she knew my then H and I owned income property (and predicited, acurately, which tenant would screw us over), knew that my brother had just lost a close friend traumatically (his friend killed himself), knew that I was having pregnancy issues and predicted when I would have my son, exactly right. She then told me I would live on water..... I laughed at that one for years.... I got divorced, bought a condo, years pass, met DH and we started looked at houses together and he asked me, out of the blue, if I would consider looking at a house on a lake... we looked, we loved it, we bought it.... the day we moved in I remembered what she had said, 8 years prior! She has gotten a lot of stuff right and it really amazes me.

So, I see it as a form of entertainment/insight into my life. When I told some friends I was going some thought it was cool, some thought I was nutso.... I was just wondering, how many people go to have stuff like this done, and has any psychic ever really KNOWN stuff that has happened to you? Are there any believers out there on the DIS?????

I haven't gone, but my friend's step-mom went a few years ago and had a lot of things that were right spot on. I've always wanted to go, but we live in a very small town so there's not much call for that sort of thing around here.

Let me preface this by saying, I'm an atheist. I don't believe in the supernatural and I'm pretty skeptical about everything!

But Tarot cards have been freakishly accurate for me! They predicted both pregnancies (and I never intended on having children), predicted marital troubles, and predicted big changes in my life.

I don't know what it is about the cards, but I believe them to be accurate, much against my better judgment!

Well normally I would tell you that I am just a believer in being entertained by the supernatural but who knows really? So I just leave it up in the air.

As far as a "psychic" having insight....

I was working at a garden nursey and one of my coworkers told me she was a psychic. She said she did work on the side at various times with her gift.

She kind of did an "informal reading" when I was talking about my future. I had told her that I had 1 child and since it had been 5yrs., we expected it to be the "only".

She told me that I was going to get pregnant and have another child. Long story short, she was right.

I do think about that. Some of the things she said with it were pretty interesting. I can't really remember everything she said but I do know that there was something "there" if you know what I mean.

Having lived and grown up in New Orleans having Tarot cards read was just something we did quite often. Some of the readers were "spot on" while others ... not so much, so I definitely think it depends upon the person.
