I had a BLT for Thanksgiving with a little Holiday & Birthday Cheer:NEW END & new PTR

Sounds like you had a fun & productive visit to DTD! It's so great that they have a place you can get special treats for people with food allergies - did NR like them??

Tim loves those Thanksgiving left-over sandwiches!! I'll have to try making them on a warm roll... he usually eats them cold on regular bread.

Glad to hear babycakes was a HIT! I'm sure NR felt very special to have those cupcakes for her birthday.

You know, I'm not a huge fan of sandwiches, but that would totally tempt me. Sounds scrumpcious! Hooray for finding a sweet treat for N-R! I can't wait to hear how she enjoyed those!

Oh my goodness, you only have 16 days until you're back at Disney!:faint:
I'm sure you'll have your TR all wrapped up by then......:rolleyes1

Oh, I love Tren-D! Such a fun store.

That sandwich sounds delicious indeed!

Wow! Those are expensive cupcakes. But worth every penny, I'm sure!

you all basically said the same thing and asked the same questions :rotfl:

Oh, yum, my stomach is just growling away at the idea of that holiday sandwich! It sounds scrumptious!

yes it was all of thanksgiving wrapped up into one bite! (ok so maybe it was missing green bean casserole and pumpkin pie...

How awesome that you were able to get cupcakes for Naomi-Ruth! Pixie dust for sure! Did you try a bit of them? How were they? We don't have any food allergies that would necessitate a visit there, but I am intrigued by cupcake shops in general.

Yes I did have some...explain more soon

that Trend-D store is so cute! I wanted to spend some time in there looking around but my girls weren't really interested. Good for Matt to let you shop!

good man! ;)

Oh, I wish I knew about that holiday sandwich they had. We ate at the new chicken place and it was good but your sandwich sounds yummy!

well now you have an excuse to go back during Thanksgiving

Love the DTD Xmas tree!

:thumbsup2

Yes, forgot to mention the cupcakes. How were they?

When we stopped by they had a sample of their banana bread ... and it wasn't really good..maybe it had been sitting out too long but it was just kinda tasteless and heavy.

I was going to buy a cupcake but after trying that sample, said no way!

Oh, did you see the "icing shots!" Now I do love me some icing ... and was way tempted to try one of those...

no I don't remember the icing shots :confused3 My next post will be about those cupcakes...so stay tuned...but one thing to keep in mind about baking GF/DF/EF...it is SO different from what your tastebuds are use to the texture and taste can be way off...most items made w/ non wheat are heavy and very dense.

yes and no

you should try that! My inlaws eat turkey deli sandwiches all the time w/ cranberry sauce on them

Glad to hear babycakes was a HIT! I'm sure NR felt very special to have those cupcakes for her birthday.

she did wait to you see/read how it went over

I think it's more like 17...some of our tickers are off by a day...not sure if the TR will be done before then...but I hope to get up at least 3 more segments!

That sandwich sounds so good!
The tree in DTD is just so cute. Love it!

it was...and I would love to have that tree in my front yard

Oh, I love Tren-D! Such a fun store.

my first visit and it was :thumbsup2

That sandwich sounds delicious indeed!

you didn't try during your T-giving trip?

Wow! Those are expensive cupcakes. But worth every penny, I'm sure!

yes they were :goodvibes

I have never been to Earl of Sandwich in all of my 7 Disney trips! That is one of my goals on this trip for sure!

That would explain it! Heavy and dense...so maybe that was the way it *was* supposed to taste. I did not find it enjoyable at all ... and was totally confused thinking how $$$ they were to eat something IMHO that was really bad.:rotfl2:

Thank you for explaining it. I'm unfamiliar with allergies and alternatives to the foods I normally eat.

I hope NR loved them and felt special.

OMG, I am SO, SO, SO, SO, SO jealous! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that sandwich!! When we had to cancel our trip that is one thing I mourned. ;) Someday I hope to be back down during that timeframe to get one. We're just going to miss it as they posted on their facebook page that it leaves in 2wks. :sad1:

TrenD is a very cute store, I imagine I'll lose Mairead in there this year.....

Can't wait to hear about the cupcakes!

Oh you really should it is very good! works like a QD credit on the DDP too if you use that. they have sandwhiches you order then grab any sides (OOP) dessert and a drink or order a fountain drink

That would explain it! Heavy and dense...so maybe that was the way it *was* supposed to taste. I did not find it enjoyable at all ... and was totally confused thinking how $$$ they were to eat something IMHO that was really bad.:rotfl2:

yes most alternative foods cost a ton...it's scary to see how much I spend on bread, waffles, soy yougurt etc...for her and it only lasts a few weeks

Thank you for explaining it. I'm unfamiliar with allergies and alternatives to the foods I normally eat.

I hope NR loved them and felt special.

I think she did

sorry I knew you would be I thought of you while I was eating it :goodvibes

Glad you were able to find the cupcakes for Naomi Ruth's bday celebration! I'm sure they were a big hit!!!!

I love the picture of that tree, I'm a huge board game fan so that tree is right up my alley!!!!

Ahh... a snowy Friday is the perfect time to catch up with my favorite TR writers!! :goodvibes

Your holiday pictures were so enjoyable... you must've had a hard time choosing a favorite!

It will be fun to spend some time at Disney without the worry over husbands, kids, and in-laws, won't it? ;)

As always, despite some ups and downs, you seem to be having a wonderful time! I'm looking forward to the B'day pix...

Kathy

thanks Kathy...each trip brings something new...crazies to overcome and lots of new magic...just the other day my sil (matt's sister) asks...so "what are you going to do there [re to our trip]?"

she loves the autism connection (she fundraises for Autism Speaks in Nathan's name) but the Disney things throws her...oh well

All right let’s get back to this TR…..

I last left off w/ Matt and I arriving back to POP after our fun and successful evening at the Marketplace. The next morning was Day 2, Saturday Nov 20th and most importantly….

Naomi-Ruth’s 4th Birthday!!!!!

We had quite the early busy morning to get started w/ (as you recall in previous posts we checked out of POP, took taxi to CR, checked in for BLT, and off to MK all before 8:30 am)

But before all that happened, NR and her brother and sisters awoke to this

Cupcakes for Breakfast!

100_7130.jpg

We decided that trying to leave the cupcakes w/ bell services at CR to save for later might be tricky so we opted to offer them for the kids first thing! They were a bit shocked. Here is Naomi-Ruth checking out her yummies:

100_7133.jpg

We sang happy birthday too her too.

We had the 4 cupcakes as you remember flavors if I remember correctly were red velvet, carrot, chocolate and a lemon flavor. They were good but not fabulous. But NR was happy and that truly is all that matters.

NR also got her birthday gifts from Matt and I on Sun (the next day) since they were in the luggage they didn’t arrive till late on Sat night…good thing I changed my mind about baking a cake in the villa for her….

100_7273.jpg

Fast forward to the girls and I heading off to MK now to get to their 8:30 BBB appt. we were running a few minutes late, I was tired, still sick and feeling a tad stressed…but as we made our way down the walk way toward my HAPPY PLACE…it all went away

100_7137.jpg

These pictures are actually from when Matt & Nathan arrived at MK after us…but seem to fit in here perfectly

Getting in to the park was a breeze and we stopped along the empty MS for a few pictures

We made it up to BBB

100_7143.jpg

100_7144.jpg

And I checked the girls in, we had to wait for just a little bit. It was already quite busy shortly after 8:30 am. Lots of little girls coming in w/ their families to become princesses. We already knew each girl would choose the Princess bun hairstyle (the nicest one IMHO)…I had to walk out cause I realized I forgot our combs in the stolller and ended up moving it over to the side closer to the CRT entrance earlier and BTW when you book BBB they tell you to bring a comb…but you don’t need it, they provided one to each girl.

Once each Princess was called in by their Fairy God mother’s in training…Naomi-Ruth began to get extremely nervous…she was already a little bit…but it got worse. Bekah and Rachel sat down and got started while NR and I watched and waited just a bit till a chair opened up for her. She wasn’t sure about this at all….

continued in next post...

At first she didn’t want to sit down or do it. She wasn’t crying, screaming or anything like that…but she was scared. I thought for sure she’d love it. I ended up holding her…or more like gripping her for dear life…

Now you don’t pay till the end and we could have bailed ship all together here w/ her…but I kept thinking she settle down and feel ok…but no go. Here are the pictures (and thank goodness they have PhotoPass photographer assigned to you cause I would have gotten none)

She survived her ordeal and as my Mom remarked on FB…it’s hard being a Princess…

She eventually started smiling again once we were out of there…here is a picture of her latter in the morning:

Looking back, early in the morning, too many people, strange lady touching me…it was too much for (she struggles w/ social anxiety) her…I am glad we did it…but was sad it wasn’t the “magical moment I had wished for”

Cont in next post:

Back to my other Princesses….

They just adored it and once again so THANKFUL to have these pictures….

Here is a photo montage of Princess Rebekah and Princess Rachel:

Later that morning (after rides and CRT) we stopped for a Photopass picture of the girls:

Looking back I wish I had done the PP studio shots of the girls, especially Rachel I just adored how she looked…oh well. I would definitely do BBB again for the girls if they would like it…think I got Bekah in right at the crux of her in between little girl and big girl and hope to capture a magical moment for Naomi-Ruth when she is a bit older. It’s pricey, but they do a wonderful job and truly make each girl feel special. I was quite distracted w/ poor NR not enjoying it that it was hard for me to enjoy it…but I love the pictures…even the “snot” ones of my youngest Princess.

The hair didn’t last long though for my girls…

NR had her’s out as soon as she could….before we even headed to EP that night

100_7237.jpg

And Rachel despite my pleading to keep in it for another day…took it out before she went to sleep that night. Bekah kept her’s in for the next day and then had enough. Those crowns they stick in quite good Bekah even had little red marks on her scalp.

So my advice…don’t force a Magical moment on your little Princess unless they truly desire it. It will be something quite wonderful….

As well I must mention that Rebekah and Rachel’s dresses received so many compliments, after the ordeal I went through to get the original dress for Bekah…I was so happy. And the Princess hair clippies Becky made as well everyone just adored!

Coming up NEXT: Eating like Royalty….CRT

Thanks for reading as always,

J~

Awww! What a reluctant little princess! princess:

Never mind it being hard to be a princess... it's just hard to be four! The girls all look precious, though! And they look so happy together in front of the Castle!

Cupcakes for breakfast... yum! What a treat!

Great updates Julie!!! I'm sorry it was rocky for NR, but it looks like they were all smiles in no time! :goodvibes
