My wife's boss swears he heard on the radio that WDW now offers, for extra money, the abilility to go to the front of the line. This is not a Fast Pass - it's for every ride. I just returned from a trip there 2 weeks ago, and there certainly didn't seem to be anything like that available, but we didn't buy tickets there (we have an AP). Is he FOS or has anybody heard of this?

He is probably referring to the front of the line passes available to Universal Resort guests for Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.

MCMom

It is Universal/IOA that does that. It's called Universal Express Plus. Details can be found here

Myst

If USF sells these FOL tix to anyone who's willing to pay, there's nothing wrong with people using them. Same goes for the ppl who pay $$$$$ to stay at a USF resort, they get FOL too. They deserve it::yes::

I also heard on the radio that WDW did this.
When I asked on here someone told me that it is something that is maybe for celeb's or something. I don't know but I also heard about it.

We stayed at Royal Pacific and wit hthat we got hte front of the line access pass. It was GREAT!! We went through every ride in the park in 4 hours!! Never waited more than 5 minutes on any ride. If I was goign to Universal again I would stay on property for sure. If Disney would do this I would certianly pay for it or stay in a deluxe hotel if they offered it as a perk for staying there.

Universal has changed their FOL rules during these busy months at least for hotel guests. The FOL people are currently only being allowed FOL privileges once per ride before 3:00 PM and after that, they can use it over and over. Apparently since it's so crowded right now, the FOL was causing the regular lines to back up too much.

We're staying at a Loew's hotel for the first time this year partially just to get this privilege. Even if it's only for one time, I love it! It would be nice if Disney did something like this but I think that they probably have too many resorts for it to work.

I would be disappointed if Disney started FOL access for people who pay more!!! That is unfar to the other guests at the park who will wind up waiting in line even longer. Everyone who purchases a ticket to get in should have equal access to the rides. FP is great because it is available to everyone.
As for celebrities getting FOL access.... who do they think they are???? We all put our pants on the same way... make them wait on line like everyone else.

Disney does do it, but it's not available to the general public as far as I know.

They'll only do it if someone poses a security risk either to themselves, or to others. (Think Michael Jackson and the hoardes that follow and assault him....)

At least that's the way I've heard it works.

I don't agree that just because a person is willing and ABLE to pay more money for something, that makes that person BETTER than everyone else. Nobody DESERVES to be treated better than others just because they have more money. Sure, Disney has perks for on-site guests, but usually those perks don't include messing up non-guests day by having line cutters. I think if Universal wants their hotel guests to have priority on the rides, they should do what Disney does, and open the park a little earlier just for THEM. Then they can cut each other in line. Or, offer soemthing like E-nights for them close the parks then open them up just for on-site guests. Universal can charge extra (like Disney does) or not. But I really am bothered that someone would say that something like stepping on toes in public is "deserved" because someone shelled out $$$$$ to stay at a hotel instead of $$$.

On the subject of US/IA ...it will be a long time before we go back. They cerainly do not have the bag screeening routine down, they line just to go throughthe sceeners was 2 HOURS long when we went the last time. This was in Oct. 2002. 2 hours before you walked in the gate! 2 HOURS! They can keep their line cutting front of the line system..I am sticking with Disney.

Celebrities don't get FOL access....they get backdoor access. And sure, we put our pants on the same way, but we are not trying to have a vacation with our family (just like John Q Public) and being MOBBED for autographs, pictures ect. Can you imagine? No, I don't have a problem with Disney allowing VIP service to celebrities. Until the public can respect the fact that these celebrities are on VACATION just like them, then they need some sort of perk.

Picture Brad Pitt and Jennifer Ansiton walking through Walt Disney World. How many attractions to you think they would be able to get on by the end of the day?

Howard Stern was talking about this a while ago - but it was with respect to someone "famous" paying more money to have a guide take them through the park. His group was, of course, making fun of all that and they were, as usual, hysterical.

Does it really matter where they enter the ride? They go right to the ride.

Don't get me wrong - I don't care one way or the other - I just don't see why the distinction is made between backdoor access and front of the line. It gets you to the same dang place! :)

I was pointing out that the public may not even be aware the celebrity is even in the park. This thread is about people getting FOL access, and someone mentioned celbrities being able to do it. I am merely pointing out that celebrities don't go to the FOL because they are not in line.

:teeth: Also, sometimes I am a bit too literal when making a point. I am sure there is no distinction to FOL or backdoor, but I sometimes feel compelled to inform of the difference. A character trait that seems to be very annoying to people, yet I can't help it! LOL. And my 8 yo ds is worse than me!
