I hate laundry -- have one laundry sorter in the Masterbedroom (Holder that holds three bags -- one for lights, one for darks, and one for whites. Even my 4 year-old knows which bag for which laundry.) and one laundry bag next to the washer (God forbid anyone has to walk down to the other end of the house to throw a dirty rag in the Masterbedroom laundry). When DH finishes the kids' bathroom (he's in tiling right now -- I've given him a goal of Christmas for a finish date), we'll put another laundry bag in there.
The nice thing about presorting is you know when you need to do laundry -- when any one bag is getting full it has to go in the washer. I often throw a load in the washer in the morning just after we have all taken our showers. I don't worry about drying or folding right away. I usually have to fluff whatever gets left in the dryer to make way for the clothes I have washed. Then throw the clothes from the washer into the dryer and ignore them until we need the clothes or until I need the room in the dryer for the next load of laundry. I fluff a lot. With a 1.5 year old and 4 year old, I also soak a lot.
I gotta tell ya, I don't think I could survive without my washer & dryer, dishwasher and vacuum cleaner.
