On 11/15 had an offer made on my timeshare-was waiting and wondering what was taking so long. Got a letter today-one month to the date-that they exercised their ROFR! Doesn't affect me as a seller, but feel badly for the buyer who has waited so long (and anxiously) for all to be settled. Something to watch for though, I own 2 DVC's (BWV and BCV) and the letter I rec'd named the BCV but had all the info (correctly) for the BWV. I called and they confirmed it was for the BWV not the BCV-but asked I have a 2nd letter confirming the correct info. When I called the resale gal I was working with, she didn't seemed surprised I'd been ROFR'd, as if she'd known prior but not told either party.

Officially they notify the seller, not the broker. You have no control but correctly identify that it makes no difference to your bottom line.

I know what you mean. This happened with a small contract we sold. It was OKW September UY 50 points with the points becoming available 9/06 . We were asking $82 a point which we felt was on the high side but we were not in a hurry to sell. The people who wanted this contract already had money deposited so it was obvious that they had already been through the process. Well, we were very surprised when Disney used ROFR. Like Dean said, does not matter to ojur bottom line, but it does make you wonder what Disney is using as a benchmark to buy back contracts. :confused3

I doubt sincerely that the sales associate you spoke with knew Disney would ROFR the package. It's so hit and miss. The reputable brokers explain to the buyers when they're in jeapardy of ROFR. You as the seller, accepted the offer. Are you upset that it was ROFR'd? You accepted the offer, right? Disney gets the property, you get your money, the broker gets paid their commission and the poor buyer has to start over.
