I got my DATE!!!! OK, now what happens??

YAY!!! AFTER weeks and weeks and weeks (ok maybe not that long) we finally got confirmation of our wedding date!!!!! I'm so flippin excited! It is all feeling real now! Before it was, "when we get our date...." but NOW we got it! Now it is really going to happen! All my dreams are going to come true in one year! I can't believe it.

ok... so now that we have our date... now what happens? lol

Does a wedding planner contact me? How long does that take? When do we send the 2000 deposit? Do we sign anything now? I know we cant officially have our date until the 8 month mark, but do we get anything to look over, read and sign now? I forgot to ask Heidi when she called me earlier!!!

After we were told that we FINALLY got a date in February, I didn't hear back from Heidi (Hey, we have the same coordinator) until the begining of May, which was about a month and a half until we sign our contract. She sent me an email requesting information that she needed in order to start putting together our contract. The information that she requested was:

• Our Names (as we wanted them to appear on the contract)
• She requested our room block info. She sent us a list of hotels that we can choose from for the room block. She also attached an Excel spreadsheet where we could input our room block choices.
• She also requested a guest list with guest addresses for the save the dates that DFTW sends out. (There was an Excel spreadsheet for this attached to the email as well)
• She also had us send her our color/layout choices for our wedding website.

After that, I'm not sure what happens. We don't sign our contract until June 21st.

Yep, this is pretty much what happens. We filled out our room block and sent it to Joe. Joe then sent us the emails listed above. Then he sent us a copy of the contract. We were told to sign it, and send it back (with a check of course). I'm not sure what happens next.

I think the first thing you need to do is make up your room block. That took us a few hours, and several calls to my Dad to see how my sisters room block was.

We ve just signed our contract & have sent it back to Doreen so i know just how you must be feeling right now . After all this time of planning it feels so surreal to actually be starting everything with Disney. Its also such a relief when you find out your date,location & time is all available .

Only now do i fully realise just how much work planning a wedding takes , its gonna be a bit stressfull but its also gonna be a lot of fun

That is a great idea! I love to be organized and ahead of the game! I have my "guest list" but need to get everyones addresses! I really can't wait for the next packet of goodies they send!!

It really is surreal! But what a fantastic feeling! My sister totally bummed me out yesterday bc she told me how sad it will be when all the planning and organizing, and working is over and done with. Planning a wedding is so much fun!!! I am just going to enjoy the next year and try not to get too stressed out!

My sis has just had a baby boy whos just over 3 weeks old, hes very cute but gees are they hard work. I had never realised just what having a baby meant until seeing her over the last feew wks . It has made me glad that im getting married before we start trying for a baby though as we would of never been able to afford this kinda wedding if a lill one was already here.

We ve been together nearly 10 years now and well i ve been broody for many of those years. I think my dfs impressed that i ve waited this long to fall pregnant so he knows once that rings on my finger what the drills gonna be

A kitten is a lovely idea, we ve got a dog & have had her ever since our relationship started. In all honesty shes like our baby anyway .Pets are very rewarding to have, we certainly get a lot of pride & joy out of ours
