After seven hours of trying, I finally got through to the automated system, only to find out that all eight days of our vacation are already fully booked. So much for getting up at 6 am and "hanging in there." If you are trying for Dec. 12 - 18, you can stop calling now.
I love Disney with a passion, but I am really angry about this entire experience. I suppose the 'suits' are jumping up and down over the popularity and all the money this is bringing in, but I always found Disney to be a company who valued all guest interactions and wanted to always "exceed expectations". They have stumbled badly this time.
This has already marred our vacation and perspective of Disney's attitude toward their core customers and will certainly color my feelings about Disney overall in the future. I realize there are only a limited number of seats available, but I think this mad rush could have been avoided by not making such a huge announcement and just soft opening the reservations. The number of reservations per call should also have been limited to give more people a chance to be seated. And calls should not have been transferred from other Disney lines, such as the
Disney Store, putting those callers ahead of those who were waiting on the correct queue. This was a fiasco. If Disney hoped to achieve good "PR", they may have actually alienated more customers than those they pleased.
Anyone else feel this way?
