I got married today!!!!

Today Lisa, my partner of 10 years and I got legally married in Washington DC.

Now I know that some of of you here on the DIS boards have very strong feelings about gay marriage, but for me this is something I have waited for for a very long time.

We are ecstatically happy, and I am thrilled to be married to my 'beshert' or my soulmate.

Thanks for letting me share my joy.

We have totally enjoyed our day! Our ceremony was at 10:00 a.m. at the Jefferson Memorial. Chilly, but beautiful.

We went to lunch at the Old Ebbitt Grill right next to the White House. We came back to the house (Lisa's brother and sis in law who have been wonderful hosts) for cake and champagne.

Now we are all just crashing from all the excitement.

We are planning a reception this summer in Asheville NC where we live to celebrate with the family and friends who were not able to be with us today.

It was a totally wonderful day.
