Does anyone know anything about them?

I try to keep my stamp collection rather small, focusing on greenery, flowers, things that have a variety of uses. I never buy verses or titles, because I use the computer for that!

Also, I don't have many stamp pads because I've found that most of my stamps look better using a neutral stamp then colored in with chalks. Some of the most beautiful effects are achieved using a clear stamp pad then coloring over with chalk. If you haven't tried that yet you're missing out!

So what on earth am I going to buy? :) You know how it is-- I can't leave empty handed! I'm going mainly to meet other scrappers/stampers. I still don't have a group here that I hang out with to crop and make cards, etc.

YIKE! I would have to run in the opposite direction! LOL I don't stamp tried it once and hated it but I have a feeling if I was at a party and saw how easy it looks and all the neat ideas....my check book would be out in a flash! :D
Actually I saw on a craft show they were making soap and used stamps to create a pattern in the soap it was so neat!
Have fun and let us know what you buy!

I haven't been to one personally, but my cousin is really big into it. (I have been trying to get her into scrapbooking and she is trying to get me into that!) She makes a lot of little fun things for her kids (little boxes of candy, door knob hangers, bookmarks) She buys the little seasonal kits with the stamp(s) and stuff to make the little projects. For instance at Easter she had little "pillow style" boxes (like the McDonalds pie boxes that fold in on the ends) with a little window in them, all decorated with Easter stamping and filled with jelly beans for all the kids. maybe you could pick up something small like that...

I've been to one, and let's put it this way, unless you want to spend $$$, don't go. Their stuff is not cheap, but the selection is beyond anything I've seen anywhere else.

That said, I was disappointed by the fact that the stamps aren't put together for you and that the vellum needs to be cut by the user. I don't know about you, but I can't cut a straight line to save my soul.

I thought Stampin'Up stamps weren't assembled to cut the costs! I'm surprised to hear that they're expensive anyway. That would disappoint me too.

I went to one recently, even though I have never stamped, nor do I scrapbook. The catalog was HUGE, but I found it to be pretty expensive. Michael's or Hobby Lobby has a lot of the same stuff, for much cheaper. However, if you are into making cards and invitations they have the best ideas and suggestions. I bought a set of pastels and 2 small stamps for my daughter, and with tax, shipping & handling it was $43!!!
