I will be ging for Elementary Ed with a dual certification in Elem. and Special Ed. I have wanted to do it since I got out of college and into the corporate world (just wasn't me) so I gave it a lot of thought, spoke to former teachers and friends who are teachers and after discussing with my very supportive DH, we decided to go for it!

Congratulations it will be well worth it. I finish my master in December - it has been a long 2.5 years but the reward hopefully outweigh all the pain you have to deal with along the way.

Hey...I did the exact same thing! Got tired of corporate America, and went for my Masters of Arts in Teaching. Also specializing in Elementary Education! Right now I'm on DAY 2 of my student teaching...

Congratulations to you! I'm sure you'll be a wonderful teacher and it sounds like you've really done your research. Don't let the naysayers get to you - believe me, I've heard the good, the bad, and the ugly when I tell people I'm going into teaching! And having your DH be supportive of your decision will make all the difference in the world - my fiance has been so wonderful to me throughout this process. He waited on me hand and foot (when I was frazzled, bleary-eyed, and cranky) during the last few weeks of every semester!

When do classes start? Are you enrolled for this fall?

Yes I start classes in 2 weeks-talk about finding out at the last minute! I have a meeting tomorrow with the education department to get all the info and register. I am really looking forward to it.
