I Got An Email

I haven't received one of the postcards either. A few weeks ago, I received a snail mail postcard (with requisite pin) for summer rates. But these end August 28. Not even Disney would get me into the Summer heat of Florida - been there, done that, never again. I've never received an e-postcard that I know of. I really hope I still get the other kind! Our next trip (a family GG) is currently scheduled for Nov/Dec 2005. But I know if I could get the terrific rates mentioned here, I could convince DSIS to make an earlier visit this Fall. Can't wait over a year - I already have World Withdrawal and it's not even a year since our last trip!

I got the email yesterday morning and kept on them all day. Last year I got burned on the annual pass rate due to the system "being down", so Iwas not trusting the "call Monday" answer. Finally at 4pm I got the response that the code was for 8/2, but due to so many phone calls they changed it to Friday. I booked All Stars for $49 a night; however, we are staying through the blackout dates of 11/10 & 11/11. When they entered the code, we still got the $49 a night for those two nights, but not for 11/9. We had to split up our reservation into three parts (10/30-11/9, 11/9-11/10, 11/10-11/12) just to get the discount. Did anyone else have this problem? Was anyone able to get 11/9? It was supposed to be a "valid" date according to the email. Has anyone ever had a problem with having to change rooms when you have two or more reservation numbers?

We already have reservations at WL December 4-11 and I was hoping AP rates would come out to reduce the cost....we have a total of 4 rooms reserved...I was so disappointed when I did not receive one of these e-mails. I remembered that my sister ( who is also going with us) received a post card a couple of months ago so I left her a message last night to check her e-mails for one from Disney, very important, etc. I called her this afternoon on my way to the mall and ask her if she got one and she tells me she hasn't checked her mail all week. So, I make her check while she's talking to me and she tells me yes she has one!!!! Well, I feel like I've won the lottery. I have her call while I'm on the phone because I can't wait until I get home. Very nice CM named Florida transfers us to Magical Gatherings and he confirms the code and the PIN from her email.....and then tells us sorry there are no rooms in WL available at that rate anymore!!! He said there were only something like 10 rooms available for this rate and they are all gone!! He suggested trying again b/c people may switch resorts, etc. I got all excited for nothing!! I had to do a mini-vent to my sister that if she had checked her mail sooner we might have gotten it....oh if only she was as Disney obsessed as me

I'm so upset! We're going 11/4-11, and I called with the e-mail and they said there's no deluxe availability anywhere. The only rooms available were BWI suite and concierge. The GF is completely booked. They said most of DW hotels are booked for this time period because of the festival. I can't believe it! I thought the beginning of Nov. isn't that crowded. Isn't the summer more crowded? There was plenty of rooms available when we went in July. I don't know what to do. I asked if it's just these special rates are booked, and she said no, the hotels are booked solid.

Alright! FINALLY booked my Dec trip!!!!! I received my postcard today, to answer tink2's ?. I wanted to stay in a moderate but it was pretty limited. POFQ was not available (booked?) and POR only offered king beds (we want 2 beds) and CS only had suites for $300 a night (what's that about?). So we went with CBR for $79 ($88.09 including tax) a night. We love CBR and have stayed there 3 times already (most recent trip was there) but I was hoping for a different Moderate this time. I'm kind of disappointed and am hoping other mods open up. If they open up, and I switch over, will I still be granted my discount? Or do I get to book until the deadline (I don't know when that is since the card is not in my hands).

Pixie dust that other mods open up so we can mix things up a bit!

Can't wait to eat my Mickey Bar on Main Street!

You may want to check for 11/4 to 11/10 because 11/10-11/13 are blacked out for the discount. Or see if any of your dates are available. You would have to split your reservation into 2 but you might save quite a bit. You can also check online reservations on disneyworld.com to see what is available for regular rates, that would give you an idea of what dates are fully soldout.

I read on one of the posts that WL was booked in early Dec. for these discounts. If they came out with a room only code for that time period, does that mean they open up more rooms or that is it no more rooms for any discounts? I'm new at this so I was just wondering. I already have rooms booked at WL for 11/29 - 12/4, but was hoping to upgrade if good rate was available.

Okay, here's my update...I'm so excited!! I decided to call back and just see what the rates/availability were at other resorts since the last CM told us WL had no rooms left at the discounted rates. I gave the CM my sisters' code and PIN and he verified everything. When I told him I wanted to check for other resorts, he put me on hold and when he came back he said I was all set for $121.57/night including tax! (this was for a standard room) I was so excited....but then I had to ask him to apply the discount to our other two rooms (we have a total of 4, but 3 is the most one person can book under their name) He put me on hold again and and when he came back again he told me that there were no more standard rooms available for the discount...if I wanted all 3 rooms to have the discount we would have to upgrade to courtyard view room for $152.76/night including tax. I told him I'd take the courtyard rooms. When all was said and done we saved $493.84 on each of the 4 rooms....he even went out of his way to get an override to allow the fourth room to be included in the discounts!! I figured we got about 45% off the rack rate of the courtyard view of $250? I think the only reason I'd use the AP rate now was if I was able to get the standard room rate, but I think those are rare, especially 4 of them?

So, for anyone that couldn't get the resort you wanted, keep trying!!

I was sent a email for value and moderate resorts (in another post I said I got it a couple of days ago but checked and got it yesterday). Thing of it is, I can't go yet (I would say now that hubby has a job now we can go in another 2 years or less). I know I will never get a rate like this when we do go! Kind of makes me sad lol!

We have a Disney VISA, AP's and have averaged going to WDW 3 to 4 times per year for the last 10 years (average stay 7 nights) and have never received a discount offer for a room, either by postcard or e-mail. Looks like they take us for granted. At one time it seemed as though AP room rates came out first. DW is kind of burned out on WDW and suggested we only go to WDW once this winter. I talked her into two trips, but without good room discounts, we will not go to WDW, so it will probably make her happy. This room discount game that Disney plays does get frustrating.

We also go to Vegas 3 to 4 times per year and I receive constant discount offers from several Vegas hotels. We gamble very little, so they aren't influenced by our betting.

Just checked my email today and saw the postcard. Nothing available for me at my first choices -- Poly or WL -- for my dates of travel (10/28 to 11/5). Checked on AKL and had rate of $151/night ($168.37 after taxes and fees) for Standard Savannah view. I grabbed the room, but AKL is not my first choice. Is this rate so favorable that keeping it should be a no-brainer?

Nothing for Boardwalk Villas.

I decided to splurge for BWI water view!

Needless to say I want an E mail too! I would bet the AP rates won't be much better than this offer. Instead of 85 off a night on delux maybe 90. Not the deep 45% off all rooms like last year.

In case anyone is wondering on dates and availability I called yesterday and booked....had to use my 2nd choice on dates because there was limited availability with this email discount and I really wanted WL.

First checked 11/6-11/10
No discount available for WL unless we wanted a juniour suite.
Comtemporary: Courtyard $185/night or Tower $245/night. No standard rooms.

11/14-11/18
Booked WL Woodsview for $121/night.
Courtyard was available for $137/night.

She said they were getting super heavy volume of calls from the emails and the rates were going fast. So if you are still waiting, I would jump on it.

Hope that helps! This is our first trip to Disney! Yippie.
