For my signature size :sad2: Totally understand why, it was my own stupid fault for not being able to read properly. However, one thing I don't understand is that the post on which it was picked up now has a yellow card to show I had a warning - but it makes it look like I said something wrong in my post, which I didn't :sad2: Obviously, I've now removed the offending picture from my siggie - is there any way of having that card removed? I didn't get any points or anything, if that make a difference.

:sad2: :scared:  :guilty: And don't let it happen again.;)

I got one too for my signature :scared1: it was a fair ::cop: and now I'm legal :thumbsup2

Joh

The yellow card on that thread wil remain until the warning expires I think, there is no way to remove it :(

But thank you for sorting it out :thumbsup2

I got one too so your not alone hun lol I thought I'd been really naughty and went off sulking :lmao: I however have sorted it I think? or hope?
Oh well at least Im not alone on the naughty step :lmao: :thumbsup2

Awh, poor you, don't worry about it, we all know what you are like.:goodvibes Was it good old Jack Sparrow that pushed it over the edge, thought it was a class animation myself.

Isn't it a little OTT to "warn" the post? What's wrong with a simple, friendly PM? :confused3

Hi

I got one before from another board I hardly post on  I was not happy to be honest. It has expired now, but I still can see my yellow card and warning when I click on usercp. :sad2: Your not alone dear. It does upset you though, it did me.

Yep, Bev - I'm gutted too because I loved old Jack  Checked on my Meez profile, though, and I couldn't make him any smaller - so he had to go :sad2:

This is the way the Webmasters have chose to administer the board's :) There is also a sticky at the top of this board reminding about signature guidelines. The guideline's are there for a reason the size set for signature's are one of the things that help's the board run quickly and smoothly(I know we don't like it when the boards are not working efficiently ;) ).

The warning is the best way to do this now as there is a trace that you have been asked to comply with the board guidelines also if you fail to do so, once it expires an infraction can be given. The problem's with PM's were that you could end up getting for example 3 PM's from each of the moderators on this board, 3 PM's from the moderators of UK TP Board's so lot's of 'friendly PM's' from different moderator's as there is no way to know if someone has already asked you to change it.

The 'Warning' is a set PM Title and we are able to personalise the message. So please guys's it is nothing horrible, no one is getting at you, these are the rules of the boards that's all. If you receive a warning and you need help with your signature the mod's will try to help you or point you to the tech board for help.:thumbsup2

Thanks in advance for your co-operation :teeth:

Kaylee, I do totally accept that but I have to admit, it can seem a little unfair when I consistently see other people who are quite clearly violating the signature rules and yet are getting away with it.

Anyway, the point was not to moan about getting 'told off' but merely to find out if the yellow card would disappear when the warning expired. If it will, then that's fine.

Joh I know it wasn't a moan :)

The moderators pick up as many as we can on our boards and some are reported by other users (Using the red warning triangle).I do understand that some signatures slip through the net and that is frustrating when you are complying. The only thing I suggest is to help the moderators on the board's you see them on is to use the report a post function. I think we are pretty good here on the UK Community Board over all.

You really do feel like a naughty child being told off by a teacher though!!! I felt so bad and upset till I found out most other folk were getting them too.:rotfl:

I also am so untechy that I just don't understand the picture guidelines anyway.:rotfl: I fear I will go over the limit again at some point!

This happened to me too. It was completely unintentional, and I was quite upset about the harshness of the tone of the warning. It was explained to me, and I can understand the rules come from above, but I can't help hoping that in the future, the procedure will start off a little more informally so that those who have made a genuine mistake have the chance to deal with the problem. It did leave a sour taste, and it was horrible seeing the yellow card on every post I made :sad2:

Hi Guys

I just wanted to back up what Kaylee has said about letting us Mods know if you spot a signature that has exceeded the limits, we know a few get through as we dont always manage to spot them all ourselves and have to occasionally rely on others to report the post using the red triangle so that we can deal with it, its not personal, it just helps us to help the Webmasters keep the boards running smoothly.

For anybody who has had a warning and is concerned about the little yellow/red card that you see in the bottom corner of the post that the warning was placed on, I can confirm that this can only be seen by the person who received the warning and Moderators. Other posters can not see any warnings/infractions that have been issued. The same goes for your user profile, you and the mods are again the only ones that can tell a warning/infraction has been issued.

Thank you all for your help, we really do appricaite it and as I said, its not personal, and it helps us to keep the boards running smooth and efficiantly.:goodvibes

Kristie

It is a 'standard PM' that goes out with the ability to personalise the 'bit' in the middle of it advising of the specific problem. This is what is being sent across the whole of the DIS and the UK Boards will not be any different :)

You should see the size of some signatures over on the US Community boards and they are regualr posters as well!

Claire ;)

Have you used the report a post function to highlight them to the mods of that board Claire? :)
