We went on February vacation week and when we checked in, they said they couldn't honor any of my requests.(I had three for Arusha savannah, bunk beds, 3rd floor). Then we were directed to the wrong room toting our own luggage as bell services was unavailable. We went back to the front desk and were given a second room which reeked of cigarette smoke(not their fault, I know.) Then the third room was facing the woods instead of a savannah view. Finally, after all this moving they upgraded us because of all this trouble.
It sounds kind of silly now that I put it all in writing but it was distressing at the time. I just don't understand why they don't assign rooms ahead of time. They seem to scramble to find rooms as people check-in.
I just think it was bad timing on our part and a crowded, busy week. The resort is beautiful and our stay was wonderful after this rocky start.
