Just for general info, through my hours of trying to find a deal on a place to stay, I found a great one. Representitive said it wasn't a timeshare tours type of deal. I'll know when I go in March. Anyway I got a 3 bedroom, 3 bath townhouse in a resort with all the ammenities including a washer and dryer through www.discounthotels.cc. (notice it is .cc not .com) It is a few cents less then $65 a night. Go to the website, click on Orlando (all areas) and then scroll down to Island club west. If anyone knows why this may be a bad deal, please let me know before I go. March 8-13. I have seen this same resort on other sites for $120 or more per night. Thanks
P.S. I posted this on the budget boards thread and someone said they had trouble finding the place and then they didn't have a confirmed reservation. I called ahead and confirmed my reservation and they also sent me clear directions to the place. Has anyone else ever stayed there?

I don't think it's as close to Disney as they say. Maybe 9 miles to Disney property but I bet it's not that close (look at the map link). Maid service isn't included.

Ah, sounds so familiar. Also a 3/2/2 that wasn't a timeshare tour thing either- done through hotels.com online (paid by credit card right then- not at checkout later). Got there and although I had directions to find the place, it wasn't going to be easy. Also quite aways from the parks but that was okay due to the MANY amenities promised (this was Lake Marion Golf Resorts)... get there and get a call saying they were overbooked. I don't EVEN want to get into what we ended up staying in and hotels.com will not refund ANY of the amount we paid before. The old bait and switch.

I did the same thing. Sometimes it doesn't matter. I just thank goodness you didn't use hotels.com and hope that your experience doesn't turn out like mine (which btw wasn't as cheap as yours either- ours was $129 a night and we ended up in a 2br dump for that. :(

I guess if a price looks too good to be true it probably is. I'd go with a credit card dispute (and a BBB complaint) to get the money you already paid.

Ultimately you can get down there and either get stuck with a lesser property or a refund and be on your own to find a place.

When I stayed there they did not have Townhomes, they were 2 story condo's One condo on top of the other, I was not happy paying $90 per night but I would say $65 is about right, having made the mistake of staying so far away from disney i would not do it again
