I have been doing childcare from my home fulltime for 3 1/2 years now. It's not an easy job, the hours are long & the pay isn't great. I started doing this when my oldest started Kindergarten so I could be home with them. It's been a rollercoaster ride as far as income is concerned. I have had parents laid off several times which means they don't need me/can't pay me, I have had parents bounce checks, forget to pay me, at times felt as if I was pulling teeth to get paid ect. Every Monday (my pay day) its nerve wracking to know if I'm going to get paid on time by each family. I get no paid vacations or sick time. The last straw was when my son got H1N1 and I couldn't work so no pay for me. I decided at that time I have to get a full time job with benefits. I began looking & applying in Oct. Seems like a long time but I know with the economy the way it is I'm lucky enough to have already secured a fulltime job!~
I received (and accepted) an offer on Monday (after 3 interviews over the last month) from a major hospital in the area. I will be working in the business office, great hours, casual dress code, benefits (YAY!!) and the best part....they offered me $3 MORE an hour than I asked for

Its going to be a major adjustment for my family and I am so nervous to give my notice to my childcare families but I have to do whats best for me & my family.
I am excited and just wanted to share!
