Congrats! I got mine on New Year's Day and I'm obsessed with it.
If you have an iPhone 4S or later, it will sync to your phone and it doesn't have to interact with your laptop. Your iPhone will send the data to FitBit.com and you can log in there and see your full dashboard.
I was SO surprised at how few steps I took during a normal day. It reminds me constantly to get up and do something!
I'm using Sparkpeople for food because it has a much better database. Otherwise, I just use the FitBit app for tracking fitness. Seems to do a pretty good job. And if you got the FitBit One, the sleep tracking on the FitBit app is pretty cool, too. I've learned I don't sleep much (just over 6 hours a night). The app has basic info about your sleep, but the dashboard on the website will show you exactly when you woke up. I seem to have a pattern.
Well I forgot to turn off sleep mode so I'm guessing that calc will be wrong. It thinks I walked a thousand steps and climbed two flights of stairs in my sleep.
