First we got the offer for the $200(apply for the Chase Disney Visa), so my husband and I applied seperately, got $200 each, then we got the $150 offer in the mail, applied again seperately, both got approved again, that's another $300!! We already have our $400 in rewards but don't believe I will have the $300 in time for our trip June 18th.

great offers. However, if you will be buying any big purchases over the next year or so, you may want to consider what this is doing to your credit rating. Every time you open another account, even if you close one out, it affects your credit report. It may not be worth the extra $

Naa, I don't use the cards, I use my original card and pay it off every month. We have no credit card debt, and no plans for any big purchases.

New/open accounts still can go against your credit score - even if you pay it off each month.

What they are saying is anytime you apply for a credit card... Ur credit score takes a hit, because they pull your credit report. In this economy prob not the best idea, when they are not readily increasing credit scores so much... and purchases are requiring higher and Higher scores to approve you. Think that was what they were trying to say. Anyway congrats on the "free" money. As we all know nothing is ever truly free!:lmao:

Good for you! Nice to see someone have the willpower not to use the cards. Yes, your score might go down 5 points or so, but if you aren't going to need the credit, than who cares ;).

I don't understand. You and your husband signed up for 4 Disney Visa cards?

Be cautious when thinking you have money for the last two cards applied for. In fine print, these offers usually state that for first time card holders only. So do not spend without checking with Disney Visa multiple times.

That is my question too. ??

And how exactly do you consider this "free" money? And they are issuing 2 of the same cc to each of you?

Do you sign up for all of the "free" cc offers that come to your mailbox?

I'm just not gettin it.

You don't even have to ever use the cards to have it counted against you as a credit search - it's everytime you apply for a credit card, loan etc. I got a copy of my credit searches and saw it was counted against me even when I bought some online items from a department store. So be careful applying for too many cards - you never know when you may have an emergency, and need a loan or line of credit and you will be denied, no matter how good your credit is. My friend tried to borrow money to adopt a baby and was turned down because she applied for too many credit cards.

That's right. When you open up a credit card account your debt to income ratio goes up because you could charge up to your limit and max out your cards if you wanted to. Even if each card has a small limit you may have added tens of thousands of dollars worth of possible debt to your credit score and you may no longer be eligible for a low interest loan if you needed it.

My co-worker just said she couldn't refinance her house because of having too many credit inquiries. Even if you don't use all the credit cards, the credit is still available so a loan company would have no way of knowing that you WON'T use them.

Congrats!!! If you are not going to purchase a car, home or need a loan in the next 6 months don't worry about it affecting your score as long as you pay in full every month.

Those open credit lines stay on your credit report as long as they are open so it's not just 6 months. To me, that's just not worth "free" money. As someone else said, nothing is free.

I don't get how you can open 2 of the same credit cards in your name? You can open, for example, a disney chase visa and then a chase freedom visa card. But 2 disney chase visa cards in the same name (meaning primary card holder)- don't see how that's possible???

I don't know why Chase does it, but they do. We have had 1 for many years, under DH ss#. 2 months ago we got in the mail the $200 reward dollars offer so I applied under my name (it came addressed to The B Family) and was approved, for a lesser limit but no annual fee and got the $200 rewards. Last month got another $200 offer addressed the same way, so I applied for another one under DH name and it came yesterday, he activated it and she said the $200 would be there after first purchase. I think it is absolutely ridiculous that they do this, but if they want to keep sending me those offers, approving me, and giving me $200, I will keep applying too. If I was going to be applying for a mortgage or car loan soon, I would think twice about it. But we aren't and can definitely use those Disney Dollars next month!

You can have up to 4 Disney Chase credit cards per person.
I wish they would send me a code for a $200 gc.

Wow!! So I can apply for a second Disney card for under each name??
I got a $15.00 gc for opening mine, my husband just got the $200 offer approved.

We pay off the balance each month and are not overly concerned about our credit rating (it's in the 800s currently) so I might try applying for another then closing it out after getting the $200 card.

It would be very nice to get free park tickets for our next trip!

We each got 2 new accounts, 1 for the $200 offer and another for the $150 offer. It is free money, free Disney money for me to use. And no, I do not apply for all the credit card offers that come to my mailbox.

Not sure what your not getting, basically, between my husband and myself, we have $700 in Disney rewards for opening a new accounts. Works for me.

You can, I actually have 3 Disney visas in my name now.
