You have to have quite a few credit inquiries for it to make much of a difference to your score. Now having a lot of available credit can lower your score somewhat though.

I'm surprised that Chase is sending out so many cards. I thought that the banks had tightened credit.

I'm always surprised when people get all freaked out over 1 or 2 credit cards or inquiries. Over the years I've applied for and gotten a TON of different cards (every time we bought furniture or appliances or large electronics, we'd always apply for the store credit card b/c they usually had 2 years no finance charge or some such deal) and I've always had excellent credit.

Just as having a lot of available credit can lower your score, so can NOT having a lot of available credit -- say you only have 1 card that is to the limit - that is just as unfavorable as having too much...... we're talking 5-10 pts. here though so it really doesn't matter much.

If they would send me and DH 4 invites each for the Disney card with a $200 g.c. , we would gladly apply for all of them!!!
