I give up with dvc!

Wow, reading this thread it makes me wonder what has happened to this poster. My experience with DVC has been the polar opposite. They have been nothing but great to deal with before, during and after the sale.

Play nice people! But I would agree that sometimes DVD members are given rooms within resorts that are both DVD and non-DVD (like BWV) that I have a hard time believing would be considered presentable for cash guests. Hopefully this is confined to rooms soon to be renovated, but I can't be sure

Sorry to hear that you experience has gone go badly!
Is there anyway you can switch associates - we have been members for 5 years and have been fortunate to have good experiences w/ DVC.
We do not travel to DW yearly- we enjoy selling the points and traveling to other areas and experiences- ski, cruising and sometimes we leave the kids at home :)
Best of luck w/ you situation.

would be interested to see what you have to say about your experience..... we have been members since 1998. Only thing we would like to see would be some "perks" but really have never had any complaints with accommodations or dealing with making reservations.

So sorry you are not enjoying your DVC. We love ours.

I do not get why some try to contact the guide when they have a problem:confused3 they just sell the product. When buying a car for example I would not go to the sales man with a problem but the service people. Unless you are adding on I see no reason to contact your guide.

OP hope things start turning around and you get the joy of DVC again.

Is the role of the guide described somewhere in the official literature? Because of the name "Guide" at first I was also under the impression that he would be my first point of contact for all non-reservation related questions.

So in the first couple of days after I signed the contract I sent him several mails with some general questions which he was nice enough to answer.

When I found out from this forum that the guide basically just is a sales person, I of course didn't bother him anymore.

But actually, on our last stay at VWL he left a message on the phone that I could call him anytime if there was a problem or if I had any questions...

So maybe even the guides themselves are not so sure about their roles... :-)

Yes, our guide checks in with us whenever we stay on-site....
I call him for questions about referrals and such, but for the basic membership stuff I call member services - that's what they're there for, and they're always very nice to me....

NO, but just for my records when and where was this info given?

You know, I think I just realized that you are asking how I knew about your cruise, when I thought you were asking about the cruise rule changes for DVC.

I confess, I went back and looked at some of your older posts to see if you had posted about other booking issues, and that's when I saw about the cruise, and thought perhaps that was what you were dealing with.

I just wish that they had not gone with RCI. Sorry that you are unhappy but you are not alone...

just subbing to hear this story. sorry your unhappy with your dvc,we love ours.i'd be happy to take em off your hands if you want to give them away.;)

Also interested in your troubles...we have just stayed DVC for the first time and we are toying with more points in the next few years...let us know!
