I get to tour Cars Land later today, with some of the "lead Imagineers" from the project. :dance3: :hyper:

I can't take any pictures. But does anyone have anything specific they'd like me to look out for or try to ask about the land? Then I'll report back later.

Soooo anything you're curious about that I might be able to find out tonight?

If there was just some question that was the subject of hot debate here ... :confused3 .... can't think of one off the top of my head. :rotfl2:

I'm kind of wondering, if there really are only 2 rides? It seems kind of low for a whole new land to only have two rides and a ton of stores and eateries.

LOL I was going to say "PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE take a picture of the height requirement sign for RSR so we can put these threads out of their misery."

There's 3 rides: Radiator Springs Racers, Luigi's Flying Tires and Mater's Junkyard Jamboree.

Ha ha. Look at ToonTown. Carsland has 3 rides though, doesn't it, so it's got ToonTown beat.

Critter Country has 3 (Splash, Winnie the Pooh, canoes....though I don't think the canoes should be listed for CC)

Frontierland has BTMRR and the river boats for actual "rides"

NOS has HM and POTC only.

Most of the areas in DCA only have 2-3 "rides".

Yeah, I guess you are right. I also didn't realize Mater's junkyard was a ride, thought it was a store. O.K. I'll stop complaining.

How lucky are you?! Have fun!

What is the backup plan for the location currently holding the Luigi's Flying Tires attraction?

The first incarnation of this ride (Tomorrowland’s Flying Saucers) only lasted 5 years from 1961 through 1966. There is a reason the ride didn’t make it the first time at Disneyland; high operating costs, intensive maintenance, low guest capacity.

So what will be different this time? Or is this simply a temporary attraction with plans for something bigger to come later on?

If possible, i would love to know more about the menu for Flo's v8 diner.

Have a great time!! lucky you!

I highly doubt this is a temporary attraction. They've built an entire new land - why would they only build an attraction they intend to be temporary?

I imagine the theming will have a lot to do with how well the ride goes over. Don't forget, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea closed for similar reasons (slow loading, low capacity, etc) - and since reopening with a Nemo theme it's been incredibly popular (at least as of the last time I was at DLR).

Hey, if you get the chance, find out how they plan to handle the crowds the first week.

Will the land be completely open, allowing people to come and go freely? Or, will they have a big line and only let so many in at one time? (like they did with Harry Potter Land at Universal in Florida)
Will they increase the number of RSR fast passes given out (making for a slow stand by line) but spreading out everyone else that wants to ride?
Do they plan to limit fast passes to one per person so more people get a chance to ride it?

Have fun, I wish I were you today!

Haha wow, I haven't been on the boards lately, didn't realize the RSR height requirement was such a hot topic! I'll definitely check that out. I'll try to get answers to all the other questions also. I'll check this again around 5 so if you think of anything else just let me know!
