....when one of my boys comes home for a few days & then goes back to school. I was unprepared for younger DS & his GF to leave so early today. I thought they'd go to the mall & then come back to the house. Instead, they'll go to the mall, see some friends and then go back to school. Sheesh - it seemed like the separations were getting easier to handle, then I start missing them again!

:( I'm so sorry MinnieC. Do you come up to see them on occasion? At least they're not too terribly far from you, although I know that doesn't really make the goodbyes any easier. :(

:D :D :D :D To you ....I would be a lil sad to. Pd is being sent your way!!!

Trust me, it'll get easier with time....I know it's really, really hard to deal with the "empty nest syndrome" at first though. :(

Minniecarousel ...I know just how you feel. My "baby" is coming home on Wed. night for a mid semester break. I am hardly going to see him as he is planning on spending most of his time at the college where his best friend and girlfriend are. :( It's hard to accept the fact that he wants to be with his girlfriend instead of his "mommy." Why do they have to grow up so fast.

Hugs to you and all the other "mommies" who are missing their "babies."

Sending you {{HUGS}}. I do not look forward to that time of my life.

You'd think I'd be used to it by now. Maybe it's the GF - I like her, but it's just another indicator that he's not "my baby" anymore!! (uh, well, since he's 20 - he hasn't been my baby for a looonngg time!) Thanks Moms, I just sometimes long for the days when my boys were little - most of the time I'm glad they're growing up! (just wait - older DS graduates in May & he'll probably move home to get his teaching credential, and I'll get tired of having him around!!)

(Kama - my sis & bil have visited them when they've gone up to ck on their property near-by. We just haven't found the time/excuse to go visit them. Plus, someone would need to stay the night with my Mom.)

{{{HUGS}}} sweetie. I know exactly how you feel. But now my ds has a real grown up job and doesn't even need me at all anymore :( It's so hard to let go of our babies isn't it? My baby is 27 but he'll always be my baby :)

I know I will really struggle when that time comes for me. I love my DD so much - and the thought of her not being here makes me sad (even now). I have about 8 years until this happens...so I plan to enjoy every minute I have her here. :)

You guys are scaring me to death. My dd leaves for college next fall and I've been dreading it more and more as the time gets closer. She's an only child and as my dh likes to say "She's and only child which means I'm an only dad" or in my case "an only mom".
