Any recipes you want to share?

My wife whipped up some today. I don't know the recipe but it had:

Squash
Diced tomatoes
NF sour cream
LF grated cheese
tiny bit of diced onion
Seasonings

It was DELICIOUS!

I eat spaghetti squash in any spaghetti dish- with marinara, meat sauce, alfredo, etc. I love it too! It's best with my husband''s homemade sauce, though!! YUM!

How do you cook the squash? I have always wanted to try this, it sounds delicious.

How about getting the recipe off of your DW so you can share ;)

I usually like spaghetti sauce on mine :teeth:

It's good with a nice pesto sauce too. Or a spaghetti sauce with meat. Yum.

I just hate trying to cut one open though. I'm always afraid I'm going to hack my hand off as I slice it in half. :crazy2:

I love it just plain! Its also great with spag sauce. I cook it in our steamer. I cut it in half, scoop out the seeds and steam it for about 20 minutes. Perfect. Before I bought the steamer I just cut it in half, threw out the seeds and put both half in a casserole dish with a little water in the bottom of it. I brushed butter and covered it with foil. It takes a bit longer in the stove, maybe 45 minutes at 350 degrees. I am sure there are other ways of cooking it but thats how I cook mine.

I have seen on TV to cut it in half and scoop out the seeds and bake or nuke.

But I poke some holes in with a knife. Microwave it for 10 minutes or so, then cut it in half and remove the seeds and microwave it some more if needed. Then use a fork to scrape out the strands. I like mine with butter and a little pepper.

I like it with Alfredo sauce and sauteed shrimp. Yum.

I prefer to cook it by cutting it in half, removing seeds, and boiling it in a pot of water for 20 minutes. I haven't figured out a good way to cut it in half though - I usually make my dh do it!

I just cut it in half, scoop out the seeds, put it in a roasting dish, spray with butter spray, sprinkle with salt and pepper and cook at 350 until it is fork tender. The worst part of cooking the squash is cutting it in half and then "forking" the innards out while it is so hot.

I put a basting oil on ours after it is cooked and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. The basting oil is grapeseed oil with garlic and lots of spices....very yummy and garlicy.

I love tossing the spaghetti squash in browned butter, parmesan and tosted nuts (like hazelnuts or pine nuts etc)

To brown the butter, you just cook it over medium heat for like 4-5 minutes until the solids in the butter begin to brown--hence, brown butter:)

She said no recipe. She just throws it together. the only thing she knew for sure was one whole squash and 1 can of diced tomamtoes. The rest was just mix it in till it feels right.
