I forgot to pack.....

I am going to take 3 ounces of dish detergent with me this time as my refillable mug was a little worse for wear after a couple of days, even tho I did wash it the best I could with shampoo, a bar of soap....yuck:( Oh, yeh, another helpful thing is to pack underwear and socks in a baggie for the kids and that way they will have them togehter when they go to the shower...t-shirt can fit in the baggie too:)

:tinker: Great tip on dish detergent. Had not thought of that one. I would pack extra shoes for the kids. I know that I am taking crocks for my little one. She may yell out "I have to go now!" and of course a bathroom may not be anywhere nearby. Nothing worse than wet shoes. Crocks you can wash out and dry them off and go on with your day. Enjoy your trip!

I have to agree with everyone else. Medicines of all types are things to remember to pack. I always pack: Children's Tylenol (the melt away kind so I don't have to mess with the liquid kind), Adult Tylenol, Children's cold medicine, Children's Pepto Bismal tablets, lots and lots of Tums, and Immodium. We used Blister Block for the first time last year and it was great!!

I have used the GALLON ZIP lock baggies to pack for my boys for away camp.
It is the easiest way to pack outfits and they don't even think about it. Just grab and go.

don't forget a Dirty Clothes bag. After each day you throw it in there so they are out of the way and you don't lose anything.

Baby wipes~Baby wipes~Baby wipes.......wipes for the sticky hands & faces, wipes for the icecream dripped on your clothes, wipes to clean off spills in strollers, wipes for the bird poop on your shoulder--true story:), wipes for the counter service tables that may not be 100% wiped off, wipes for the highchairs & wipes for when you use the restrooms (for seats, if needed) & well....you know where else ;) ---I have an 18 mth. old, so I already have a "wipe holder", but otherwise, use a zip lock bag to put them in.

I laughed when I read your post because I have four kids, and we used wipes last year for everything you mentioned. Well, not the bird poop, but there was something in our rental stroller when we got it that looked and smelled a little like poop, just not the bird version. After that I always wipe out the rental stroller really good before the kids get in.

Along these lines... has anyone seen bactine wipes anywhere?

I used to buy these and they were wonderful for travel. You got a whole box of individually wrapped wipes with bactine on them, so you could just keep a couple in your bag. They really came in handy when the kids (or I) got a scrape or cut, to clean it up well before putting a bandaid on it. I have handed them out to many moms at the parks or at the zoo, when little ones fall and skin their knee on the very unclean ground.

I can not find them anywhere any more. Only whole bottles of bactine, which obviously don't travel as well.

Anyone see these anywhere?

Fantastic ideas! I am stuck in a snow storm today but tomorrow I will be out looking for Dish wipes and blister block!

My youngest came down with a nasty stomach virus. I was so so glad I have tons of baby wipes, disposable bibs and those disposable changing table covers. She is potty trained now but I'll continue to travel with these items, just in case!

Everything is so expensive at the resort gift shops. Make sure you have diapers, swim diapers, over the counter medicine, batteries, film or memory for your camera.

If you run out of anything, just give me a call, I usually pack enough for 2 families LOL!

Travel size laundry detergent and quarters for the machines. Also, I always bring a stain stick with me. The kids always spill something down the front of their shirt.

Headache/migraine meds (if you use them). Nothing worse than a migraine during vacation. I had one our first day last year (all the stress of getting there, expectations, etc), but luckily a migraine pill took care of it within an hour.

Purex makes "sheets" that are detergent, fabric softener and dryer sheets in one!!!* can't wait to pack these!;) My kids always spill something down the front of ME not themselves:rotfl: so I am a fan of the stain stick or tide pens!!!

I TRIPLE AGREE with the immodium and other Meds! I am even going to try to get a prescription for antibiotics for the little ones since they seem to be prone to ear infections, and thier DR always says he sees more patients a week after Disney trips for all kinds of nasty Viruses! and we are staying a week after our Disney trip to visit family...
