I forgot to pack.....

Yeah, I saw it coming and I actually said to my husband "HAND ME SOMETHING!!!" Of course, he didn't have anything to hand me, but it sure was a good idea! Poor kiddo! Two days before she got sick (I got it too, just not on the bus) we were in line waiting for the bus to take us back to our hotel, when a gentlemen tapped me on the shoulder and said "Excuse me ma'am, but that girl behind you just puked and I think it got on you." LOVELY thing to have someone tell you!! I didn't find any "evidence" on my clothing or anywhere, but sure enough two days later 2 of us were sick! I don't know if that's enough time for something like that to effect us or not, maybe it was just a coincidence....strange though! Taught me to be prepared for anything!!

That is truly a funny story! :rotfl2: That should go on one of those unforgettable disney story threads!
Isn't it amazing that no matter what happens you can still have fun in Disney!
I have the grocery bags put aside to go into the luggage!

I am leaving next Saturday for a week at Disney with my DH, DD7, DS3, and DD1 . I am trying to pack but I always end up forgetting something.

What are some last minute tips of things that I should remember? Or is there anything that you wish that you had with you for your trip that you forgot? Or perhaps just some tricks to make things easier?

We have tickets to PPP, Cinderella's Royal Table, Epcot segway tour(Just us adults:cool1: ) and Fantasmic Dinner package.:yay:

one thing that i brought is a small can of lysol in case of smells or just to disinfect the pillows and beds what a life saver also bandaids are you staying on site? hand wipes to stick in your fanny pack for the kids hands if they get something sticky, we brought plenty of those juice packs to put in bottled water, we also went in september and it was hot have a great time we go again in sept free dining yee hah can't wait :goodvibes

Oh yes and Oust makes a travel size can that is great for the bathroom to kill any bad aromas - I can't stress how important that one can be! :rolleyes1

Sunscreen! We forgot this last January and we had to buy it at the resort! It was the most expensive bottles of sunscreen we have ever bought. Of course we forgot it on the vacation where we were staying for 3 weeks! We didn't have a car to go offsite to buy it somewhere else and although we did get a grocery stop with our towncar service from the airport, we didn't realize that we forgot it until we unpacked that night.

My personal top 3~w/ kids in mind.....baby wipes (who needs a Tide pen when you have these), hand sanitizer (saves a lot of time in bathrooms & if you just want to clean your hands before you eat) & spray bottle ($ store-if you go in the middle of the summer these are a great way for the kids to stay cool)~ My personal tip...tweezers!!-please don't ask~Good Luck packing :thumbsup2

I always go out and buy new toothbrushes and toothpaste I ALWAYS forget them. I pack them so I know they are there. I also forget my hairbrush and elastics all the time.

I always buy new shampoo, hairspray, soap, deoderant, toothbrushes and paste. All of it. That way it's already packed and I don't have to worry about it at 3am when we are getting up and ready for the plane. :) I've also bought hairbrushes that I leave in the suitcases for our trips.

If you have done ADRs DON'T forget your ressie numbers! LOL

Great advice here!

What did we actually forget last trip?
-Moleskin (put on "hot spots" so you don't get blisters, or on blisters if you do)
-cell charger (I had prepared 2 in different places and didn't pack either because I thought I'd packed the other one!
-body lotion (I have sensitive skin)

My MIL bought us thing humongous toiletries bag called a Freedom Bag. http://www.freedombag.com/ It holds full sized stuff, everything we need for 4 people except a hair dryer (you could put a flat iron in it). We keep it packed with and extra set of toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair gel, bandaids, etc., the little things it's hard to remember to pack. It doesn't get used often, but it's a great bag!

Blister Block is made by Band-Aid... it's a stick that you rub on areas that you feel like a blister may form and it leaves a film barrier to avoid the blister. We used it on our Sept trip when I was breaking in new Crocs. It was great!

I have the Freedom Bag and it is GREAT! I use it everytime I travel, my mom bought it for me a few years ago from QVC.

*2 more important items to remember, plastic outlet covers to keep little fingers out and antibacterial wipes to wipe down the pack n' play before you put the baby in and to clean up the rental strollers.
* A good way to pack is to get the gallon size ziploc bags and put an entire outfit for each kid per day in individual bags (include socks and underwear too). This way you just have to grab a bag and they can get dressed in a flash, no worrying about digging around in the suitcase or finding items that match.

Aaaah....puking on the bus. Been there and done that with my almost 2 year old last November. She caught a 24 hour bug and it started in MK. (then my dh got it) Thank goodness I had bought something in the park so I had a bag for the bus ride back to the hotel. When we go in a couple of weeks I am going to bring extra antibacterial hand wipes and Lysol. Living with a sick kid and husband in a hotel room wasn't pleasant. Going to be sure we wash our hands a bit more this time around!!!

I buy new shampoo, toothpaste, etc and put that in the shower or where ever as I pack the half used bottles. Toiletries are packed and I can throw the near empties away when packing for the trip home - more room for souvenirs!

I always forget to pack my hat or something to protect my heat from the Florida sun so I always go back to my 2nd home with a sunburn :headache:

I learned to write down my 1-800 Number for my Credit Card and put it in a different area than my wallet, because I lost my wallet (with my CC) in DTD.
Luckly I had a Disney Visa and was able to call the Disney Resort and get them to check the DV application form for the number.
The DV Booth in DTD was not open and there were no applications in the bends. Got the DV canceled as soon as I got the number. My Wallet was turned into the Lost & Found and nothing was taken out of it. I usually only carry a small amount of cash around $50.00 and it was still in there (I wasn't expecting to get the cash back). The lady at the L & F said a Nice Family of 4 turned it in shortly after I had reported it missing. The reason that I couldn't check sooner is that we had hoped off the bus at 1st stop in DTD, realized that we needed the 2nd Stop and jumped back on the bus--then realized I had dropped/lost my wallet.
Everyone in DTD, the bus driver the Resort staff, the L & F CMs, and the Nice Family were very
helpful and I appreciate them for that--Such Nice People!!!:grouphug:

Oh, one of my old Daycare childen's dad was a Dr. and he would get stoething OTC from the drugstore to help kids (or adults) to stop feelin nauseous and puking. It worked great! You might want to look for some of it- ask the pharmacist b/c I forget the name. It was a red liquid and a godsend.

They do have something called Emetrol which is an anti-nausea med at Wal-Mart. I've never tried it, but my husband swears by it. In fact, they have the equate brand of it at Walmart and it works just as well for half the price. Thanks for the reminder, going to put that in my suitcase right now!!

Someone mentioned bringing Immodium...DO IT! (We were the ones who got sick and puked on the bus in March) DD threw up, but for me it exited my body in the southern region! I went to numerous shops and stores in WDW to buy some Immodium (the shops did have Tylenol, bandaids, motrin, etc.) BUT NO IMMODIUM! I finally had to head to the medical service in MGM and the nurse had a anti-diarrhea med similar to Immodium (it didn't work unfortunately, so I got to tour every bathroom in MGM!) That's one item I will never forget to pack again!!

Yeah, they don't have any laxatives either :sad2: . We went on a 11 day trip 14 months ago and I couldn't go for the 1st 9 days. It was horrid.
