I forgot to add the special requests...

Or more accurately didn't realize I should have for Garden Grill since it's a family platter, and DH is likely to refuse to eat turkey that has been touching such bizarre foodstuffs as sausage and mashed potatoes. He's actually pretty good at working around the things he has an aversion to and the ones that upset his stomach (in both these cases it does seem just to be that they're yucky, and not that they don't agree with him) but big platters like that can be problematic. I figure we could probably just ask for a small plate plain, along with a plain salad, and maybe some vanilla ice cream, but I figured it'd make the Mouse's life easier to know in advance.

Is there any easy way to add it without calling them? And am I correct in thinking that these are probably not horrendously difficult accomodations to ask for on the spot? (We frequently request kitchens to leave half the dish off, and most are very patient with this, and generally Disney has been wonderful.)

I'm not sure what type of special request you would normally request?

I know they have food allergies, but I don't know that they have dislikes.

None of it's an allergy, but some of it is sensitivities (it'll upset his stomach) and dislike doesn't really convey the depth of some of it. Usually I'll ask if certain ingredients can be left off, and if they can't, we'll ask what they can do. Most restaurants are pretty tolerant although some are better than others, and Disney has always been very good about this. An individual dish is a little different from a family style platter though, and I thought it would be nice to give them a heads up.

I don't know if it is possible to include a detailed list of sensitivities and plating requirements on the reservation, but even if you add it to the reservation, your DH should explain his preferences to the server.

I have not tried this, but I would think that they would be accommodating when you are seated. As long as you can be prepared to wait a bit longer, perhaps, for your meal, I am certain they'll do they're best to accommodate. I'm sure there are also lots of people with allergies or other requests that do not even think to inform them ahead of time. I hope you enjoy it! We're trying garden grill for the first time for breakfast this trip too!

There's a little spot for restrictions, etc., but since I knew they had things he'll eat, I didn't realize it all comes out on the same plate. I was wondering if there was an easy way to get back into the res, and it doesn't look like there is, or at least they can't find it.

Yeah, I've heard people try to order very complicated things at point of service, and with actual allergies, not just restrictions or sensitivities. I was figuring it probably wasn't too onerous, and we're very willing to wait, I just like to make it as easy as possible since we hate being the difficult family, and it's gotten harder and harder to order for him in restaurants without tinkering (he's actually gotten a little better, but more and more places are trying to make the food more interesting and there are fewer plain dishes, plus he's supposed to be at least sort of on a cardiac diet and some of the things he will eat are off the menu).

Hope you enjoy it! We've wanted to eat there for years, and it's never worked out before this.

I do know that for allergies, they will make a second platter, just for him. That is what they do for people that have celiac disease.

You could probably ask them to do that, with just the food that he will eat.

I'm a vegetarian and my daughter is an extremely picky eater. Garden Grill was very accommodating. We just told our server and he was happy to bring items on separate plates, without gravy, etc.
