I'm hooked :thumbsup2. I know there are lots of fans on the DIS. Bella's swooning occasionally got a little too romance-novelish for me, but I still can't wait to read the rest and to see the first movie in November :cool1:.

My DD 14 read all the books, she was hooked too, im just about done with Wicked, twilight is next.

I just read all four books in the last couple of weeks and I enjoyed them as well. I am definitely ready for the movie.

What is Wicked? Is it a book? What is it about?

DH just had a conversation w/ DD14 today about the Twilight movie. We're currently embroiled in a deathmatch over who has to provide her transportation to & from the movie, as their conversation went something like, you know you'll just wind up hating it & be mad that they changed this, and this, and this. She acknowledge the truth of that, however still insisted she is going to see it.

We're still licking our wounds from her tirade after seeing Eragon a few years ago. Mention of the movie is verboten in our house. It sets off a tirade from her that will peel the paint straight off the walls.

My ds says the same thing about Eragon. He read all the Twilight books this summer, me and dd are reading the first one now. Not enough action for me. As a previous poster said, too much swooning, but then again, I'm not into romance novels at all. I will go see the movie, though.

The book name is...Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire, a parallel novel of L. Frank Baum's classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz from the perspective of the witches of the Land of Oz.

Wicked tells the story of Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West and her relationship with Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. Their friendship struggles through their opposing personalities and viewpoints, rivalry over the same love-interest, their reactions to the Wizard's corrupt government, and, ultimately, Elphaba's public fall from grace. The plot is set mostly before Dorothy's arrival from Kansas, and includes several references to well-known scenes and dialogue in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz as a backstory.

Is pretty good! :thumbsup2
