I finally made it outdoors today to exercise. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Haven't actually exercised in 4 weeks except while at WDW. DD2 and I went to Sunken Meadows State Park and walked along the boardwalk. The beach is on the north side of Long Island and borders the Long Island Sound. You could see Connecticut thru the haze.

Only walked 2.65 miles in 50 min. It was in the high 80's and very humid. We need some rain to cool it down and reduce the humidity levels.

Tomorrow we hope to go down to Jones Beach which has a 4 mile boardwalk boardering the Atlantic Ocean. Now I have to consume more water and figure out how to eat healthier while on the road and I may just start losing weight again.

My goal for this week is to go to a different park each night after work and to try and walk for 3-4 miles or an hour. Also need to consume more than 16 oz of water with the rest of my fluid intake being diet soda.

Kathy - That sounds GREAT!! Keep Moving and You WILL start losing:):) Take your water (ice cold of course:) with!!

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

Hi Kathy,

Great job on the exercise. I hear you about the heat and humidty. I was walking 2-3 miles during my lunch time when it was in the 70's and less humid. Now that its in the 80's and so darn humid I haven't been able to get out at lunch. I'm don't want to come back all sweaty (although we do have showers here at work, I guess I'm just not comfortable yet taking advantage of that. It would also cut down my time to walk if I had to allow for a shower). It may be something I work towards though. I really enjoyed getting outdoors and walking. Maybe if I brough workout clothes. I sure wish there was a shower facility at the park.

I hope you get to Jones Beach today. That sounds like a really nice walk!

Managed another 4 miles today. Had nice breeze coming off the ocean to temper the 90 degree temperatures. This could easily become habit forming.

Achiles tightened up. DD2 convinced me to remove my shoes and walk in the sand when we stopped at Robert Moses state park. Walking barefoot in teh sand took the pain out of the achiles.

Gee, I've been averaging 4-5 miles a day walking for the last 4 days in 80-90+ weather. Does that count as exercise too? I haven't been counting it as anything except transpo. We have to be in the Aud at the classroom building at 0530 weds so I'm off to bed.

three days in a row is almost a record. I did 33 min on the elliptical trainer in the fitness room.
