I haven't been on the boards in a few weeks because it has been so busy with the holidays, but I did do something really important. I FINALLY called Disney! :cheer2:

I'm sure some of you remember all the dilemnas I was going through about a month ago with family and where to have the wedding. My DF and I have sorted through everything, found out that a bunch of people would actually go to WDW for our wedding. So....we are having a small custom on July 23, 2007 with the ceremony at the WP at 10am, lunch reception at Atlantic Dance Hall 11-3, and an Illuminations Dessert Party at Lower French Island. I am so excited about it all and feel like we made the right decision! I am supposed to be getting 3-4 emails this afternoon from Diane to start drawing up the contract, is there anything I should know about this whole process? I'm really worried about the room block....

Anyway, I was just really excited and wanted to share my big news. Next week I'm going dress shopping!:yay:

Congratulations! I know I was really nervous about the whole process, but it's been really easy. THe biggest thing to remember is to ask lots of questions. They're happy to answer any that you have and it'll make you feel better. I've worked with 2 Dianes at Disney while planning my wedding and both are excellent. If you have one of them you're in great hands!

Enjoy the planning - it goes by SO fast!

Congrats on figuring everything out! :) You're wedding day happens to be the day before my birthday, lol. ;)

Congrats! I am so happy that you decided to go with your wish! Have a great time and be sure to fill us in throughout the process!:cool1: :cool1:

Hello, I'm ngetting married at Disney On 1/6/07 (About a week) & I have the same plan as you. The room block is confusing. But, What you need to do is find out from your guest a rough estimate of how many days they would stay if they are going. Because you guartee them nights (ex if you bock 100 rooms you must fill up 75 nights not rooms) which adds up quick because if you stay for your honeymoon that's maybe a week, so that counts for 7 nights. But don't go crazy with the block and get stuck paying. Get a rough idea and block the rooms, then once a week check to see who booked and who didn't book and you can always add later. But, keep on top of it so they don't run out of rooms. Any questions or you don't understand it I'll help you.

Thank you so much for the room block advice, Nay Nay, it seems kind of overwhelming. I started contacting wedding guests to get an idea of how long people are planning on staying, but a majority don't know their plans yet! Oh well, I'm going to just keep my fingers crossed that this all works out. Luckily, my mom is an overplanner, type A personality and will make sure it gets done properly...thank goodness for mom:rotfl2:

 Congratulations on everything! Ask lots of questions here... more times than not someone here as the answer and can answer it much more promptly than DFTW. I am real happy that you are getting the wedding you wanted. I , too, went back and forth on what to do... and wouldnt have changed things for the world.
GL!
