I felt like a Lime Green Fool ...

... at the big new local (Tallahassee)Target store this morning.

After reading several posts on this site about something called "Lime Green Mickey Heads," and after searching the toy section and the office supply sections of the store with no luck, I bit the bullet and asked a nice Target clerk if she knew where I might find them.

After all, I reasoned, with over twelve million DIS members subscribed to the web site, someone else may have asked for "Lime Green Mickey Heads."

"What are they?" she asked.

"I don't really know," I replied, "people just keep talking about them online, and they use them to spot other members. They said something about laminating them. And, oh yes," I added hopefully, "some of them talked about 'paint chips.' But I have no idea what they were talking about."

She proceeded to call over several other clerks, and they all discussed "Mickey Heads," but none of them knew what the heck I was talking about. (I bet I really made their day; but I must add that the clerks at Target were very polite and really wanted to help this old man.)

I ended up leaving the store, feeling like a super-dooper-moron. (Perhaps, in fact, I am.)

So, I really would appreciate it if some kind soul herein would take the time to tell me what "Lime Green Mickey Heads" actually are, where one might expect to find them in a large Target store, and how one might use them to advantage when visiting Walt Disney World.

Thanks.

They are piant chips in the shape of Mickey heads. They have them at Home Depots stores in the line of Disney colors. I have not used them but I understand people put them on luggage, clothing, windows, etc inorder to recognize other DIS members. :thumbsup2

They are paint color samples. Disney has a line of paint, and their samples are in the shape of Mickey Heads. There is a lime green one, Alien Green (I think). Home Depot should have them.

The Lime Green Mickey Heads are ineed paint samples, they are found in Home Depot in the paint section.
There are all different colors of Mickey Heads, and 2 different Lime Green colors. Some use one color, some use the other.

Karnak,

You were not imagining things. Yes, Home Depot has the mickey heads. But there has been a lot of disscussion on where to find lime green ponchos, and Target was mentioned repeatedly. So I just wanted you to know that you had heard Target mentioned and that you have not totally lost your mind.

Pain samples...now that is a sample I would pass up. :rotfl2:

I know the feeling. I wish target had these paint chips as I couldn't get over to Home Depot in time before my trip.

Hehehe, thanks for catching that. I have corrected the problem.

Thanks for the quick replies, thanks for the photo, and thanks for the Lime Green Mickey Head information.

I see why I was confused now. I have long called them "color samples," or "paint samples," but had never ran across the term "paint chips." I had no idea what the heck a dadgumed paint chip was.

In addition, I suppose I did have Target Store on my mind, rather than Home Depot. I'll look for Mickey Head paint chips there, next time I'm down that way.

Thanks so much, y'all.

I don't think the Depot actually calls them "paint chips" - when we were there, they were just called Disney Paint sample cards.

Karnak, I have some extras I can mail you if you'd like. If so, send me a PM and I'll mail them out today! :thumbsup2
