I fell in love with WL/WLV!

Had an impromptu trip to WL this month (supposed to be on the 9/4 Disney Magic). Unfortunately, I did not stay at the Villas, but peeked my head around the area. We were able to get a standard room in the Lodge at an AP rate. Beautiful view of the lagoon, pool and geyser..we really lucked out with our view. I will post my pictures once they're scanned.

I *LOVE* the Wilderness Lodge! Everything about it...decor, geyser, location, pool, the amazing lobby, etc. Can't wait to stay there Villa-style next trip.

All of you WLV owners are SO lucky! Perhaps there may be an add-on in the future!

Absolutely love the smell.
I even asked the CM what that particular smell is and if I could buy it anywhere (the one thing I learned from Disney tours is that good smells at disney comes in a bottle hehehe…).

We had bought into BWV and then of course had to buy WLV the same month it opened.

Yep... that's how it starts... stayed at VWL once, and suddenly we were "forced" to add on some points there... it's a harsh world ...

We've been DVCrs for a year now and have stayed at Saratoga Springs, Beach Club Villas and Boardwalk Villas. Now we've stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and it just may be my favorite!

Glad to hear it! We're headed there in December for our first stay. We own at Boardwalk and really enjoy ourselves there. We visited WL a two years ago around Thanksgiving and loved the Christmas decorations! DW is a little unsure at this point, only because she loves BW so much -

I think it's great that you've had a chance to stay at three DVC resorts already in your first year of DVC ownership! While we admittedly have a bit of an affinity for WL/VWL ( ), we also enjoy touring the other DVC resorts and will probably be "sampling" a couple new ones (for us) next year.

Glad you had a great time. Just remember, at VWL your view will most likely be trees. And more trees. The room you got at WL was one of their premium (ie. more expensive) view rooms. Fortunately, we like the look of the woods.

Good point....although, I don't think a woods view would take away from our enjoyment of this resort. The view we got was just the icing on the cake. This entire resort is beautiful and I feel so comfortable there!

I LOVE reading this!!! Both my mom and myself are waiting to pass ROFR on two separate contracts!! I'm SURE my mom will pass (small contract $78 per point)....we're a little more "iffy". I'm SOO excited!!!

Someone emailed me a GREAT screensaver, so now I get to look at it all the time (as well as listen to it)!!

I fell in love with WL before ever staying there. On our second trip to Disney in Nov. 1998 we had some spare time and "something" made us go check out WL! Well, it was love at first site!! I remember standing outside on the raised walkway/bridge looking at the pool with the hotel in the background. I didn't want that moment to ever end!! I told dh that I would love to stay there one day............Well, that one day came on our next visit and the visit after that, and the visit after that and every visit since..................now we own at VWL and can't wait for our first trip home in Nov. Our second trip home will be 10 days after coming back from our Nov. trip just to attend MVMCP!!! Talk about getting excited!

Glad you had such a great trip! And how wonderful that you were upgraded to a courtyard view. Maybe it helped a little to make up for the cancelled cruise.

We chose not to buy into DVC until we could buy at VWL (although we do regret all the $$$ we spent on regular rooms at WL and other resorts and not buying in at OKW). Hope you're able to enjoy the villas, too.

We also love the VWL. We will be going back again this year in Dec. The Christmas decorations are beautiful. We also wish that we had bought into DVC earlier and not spent so much money on the deluxe resorts for all those years. If only we knew. I made a screensaver out of the pictures that I took last year on our first visit as a DVC member. So glad you enjoyed the WL and hope you get to stay at the villas soon.

Our stay at the WL in Oct 03 was what really got us to look into and purchase DVC. We loved the WL - and of course made our way over to the villas to look around.

We own at SSR, but cant wait to go back to VWL / WL - love it there!

Glad you liked it there! I think I fell in love with the Wilderness Lodge the first time I saw a picture of the place! When we took the DVC tour there, it was a done deal! We have stayed 3 times now, and loved every minute of each stay. Won't be back there until next August, and I think I'm going through VWL withdrawl!
