I feel so underprepared...

Been travelling for business and working on getting the house ready for thanksgiving guests. Then it occurred to me. We leave in 4 days. We leave in 4 days. (In Rapunzel's voice) We LEAVE in FOUR DAYS!

I DO have a hotel and ME tickets (somewhere). An ADR or two and a FEW FP+? I think?

And ummmmmmmm. yeah.

No bags. No clothes. Have not been thorough my trading pins to figure which ones I am going to bring this trip. Electronics not charged. No movies to watch on the plane or books to read. Ewwww. I have plane tickets.... don't I? Surely I must. I would have made plane tickets. I needed them for ME.

Online checkin? Should do that. And what park are we even going to?

This trip just crept up on me!

had that happen before?

Yes this has but then again I live close enough for a day trip. ( along day trip with a 4 hour drive)

I would do online check in

Yes, with my own home park in Paris. Too busy and stressed with work to think about the trip. On Thursday I realized: Oh the day after tomorrow I have to catch the train at 7.
I had a hotel, my train ticket and my AP. But also train tickets bought far in advance that I had to check if I had booked it or not. What would I take with me, no idea, where is my suitcase? It's Halloween, which shows are there, which characters, are they different from Halloween last year? I had nothing prepared, but as soon as I got into the park I knew immediately what to do and where to go.

It will be ok! 4 days is more than enough time. Make a to do list and go one at a time. Once I had a HORRIBLE migraine the day before I left on a Disney trip with the school. Had a wedding shower and theatre contest the day before. Got home at midnight and crashed on bed ON TOP of random clothes id thrown on bed the night before. Woke up at 4 am, just threw stuff in suitcases and left at 5 on bus still with migraine. Still ended up overpacking.

I feel your pain. We go in 2.5 weeks (approx) and the idea or time for packing is so far down on my list of things I must do before we go. I bet I end up packing the Friday after Thanksgiving, knowing we leave early that next morning for FL.

You still have time. It should only take a few hours to pack, a half-day at most. :)

4 days is enough. I started at that point. Print out a packing checklist and in a few hours you can be ready. Just remember the basics- money, id, medication, glasses. Almost everything else can be figured out if you forget.

Yeah, I feel the same way. We leave Saturday, so I guess I should start packing...

This is the first Christmas trip in years and we have a family wedding the week before we leave so I feel your pain. Afraid I won't get things packed and will be staying up the night before getting things done.

We leave in 4 days, too! Packing? Umm, yeah, haven't started that. I've thought about it, but I've also been stalking the weather. I figure the longer I wait to pack, the more accurate the forecast. Accurate Florida weather, that's funny.

We are driving down for the first time, so I feel less stressed about packing and fitting everything.

Sooooo....I am going to translate the concerns in this thread for my own benefit with the thought that perhaps I am NOT crazy in thinking about doing some initial packing this weekend???? We don't go to Disney until the end of January. :)

If it makes you feel better, we have one of those plastic 3 drawer things (the wider one) that we use to store stuff for upcoming trips. As we travel Christmas break, Spring Break and Summer Break it usually always has a stash going.

I'm a major planner!! My trip isn't until December 18th and I've already been semi-packing. I have like every detail planned out, lol. But I enjoy the planning part!

I here I was feeling antsy that I'm 34 days out & haven't started packing yet. I once started about 4 months out.

We are all in the same general time frame. Yep, I'm stressing, especially about the Christmas decor, gift shopping, wrapping we have to get done before.

We just had a very lovely 3 days with absolutely no planning. Oct 30th to Nov 1. Made last minute resort reservations (2 days prior), no FP+ or ADRs. And we ended up having one of the most relaxing and enjoyable mini-vacations ever! I packed the night before and didn't forget anything.

So don't stress. Though I would suggest making FP+ if you haven't already. Good ADRs often open up the night before as guests are cancelling "24 hours" in advance.

Know that last minute planning might not allow you to do everything you might have wanted to do. But you can still have a great time!

USUALLY I have a "Disney area" hanging out in my closet / drawer. Every now and again I put something in it for a few months. "Oh... This shirt is a good bring!" or "I would love to trade this pin while I am there". Bug Sprays, suntan lotions, etc... Those types of things.

USUALLY I know what parks I am going to about 90 days out and plan ADR's and FP+'s around the 45-60 day mark.

USUALLY I have my plane tickets, ME tickets and reservations numbers printed out (just in case!!!) in the pile above no more then 15-20 days out.

I may not shovel things into the suitcase until the day before, but I HAVE everything. That's the key point.

I can honestly say this has never happened to me! I am such an over planner. We are not going until march, but I have everything planned out already and have even started my packing! I have a spare bedroom that I keep all our travel supplies in and recently got out our luggage and set up a staging area!

Nope, not at all! I'm not sure where you live, but here we're at the end of the season for our summer clothing. Rather than putting it all into storage for spring we just pack what we'll need in our suitcases for our January trip. We've done this for every trip we've taken over the winter.

:scared:

okay, so yeah... The week after we get back is thanksgiving. Family coming? Check. Staying in our house? Check. House a COMPLETE DISASTER? DOUBLE-CHECK. Christmas tree toasted and need a new one? Check. The family coming for Thanksgiving wants to see a tree, yes. And one of them has stage 4 lung cancer, so I am kind of committed to try to oblige. Business Travel in December? Check. Travel for Christmas? Check.

It's not like Disney is the only thing to worry about!

My doctor, pharmacist and insurance are having a three-way fight over my medication so I don't have any yet... Hmm. When do I leave for Disney again?

Oh and get this... You are going to LOVE this. My Phone? The very phone that has all my important information like flights, reservations, etc. The phone that is registered to get the text messages like the room I am staying at? The phone I use to do FP+ or even know where I am? The phone that has the text number for my dog sitter and camera to check on my dogs? THAT phone? It took a swim last night. Apple's genius bar is booked until after we leave which means no replacement phone. It's taking a little nap here next to me in a rice bag. I am praying very heavily for a speedy recovery.

OH SHOOT. Magic Band. I didn't pack my magic band! EEK! Need to remember to grab that. It's okay, I just put a reminder in my pho......:scared::scared::scared:

Okay... if I make it to Disney without spontaneously combusting this year, it won't be an accomplishment. It'll be a MIRACLE!

Can someone here text me to remind me to pack my magic band? Wait... text... that would require my ph.... never mind. Maybe tie a ribbon around my finger? :)
