My neighbors just left this morning (6 a.m.) for Disney and I am SOOOOO jealous!!! I helped them plan this trip since it was their first time there. Their kids are 12 and 15 so they were pretty excited that their parents were "finally" taking them to Disney.

But as we planned out their itinerary, I couldn't help but wish it was MY family going back again! I was SO excited to help them out, but then as I heard them through the open windows this morning, packing up the car and heading to the airport, I couldn't help but feel REALLY sad!

Oh, I know, I'm just being silly...afterall, as everyone reminds me when I say I need to go back to Disney, we were just there a year ago June.

Anyone else ever get a "jealous" streak when close friends or family go to Disney and you aren't going for a while?? Or is it just me, being a spoiled brat?

Someone at work, who just started, can't take time off so his wife decided last minute to go visit relatives in Orlando!

She came with her so to wait for him to drive them to the Airport. When we started chatting and I found out that this was their first trip to Florida! She has relatives and it's her first trip! I quickly filled her in on things that might interest her son, etc. I was green with envy! And as you can see, we are going to be there in 21 days! So it's not like we have a long wait! I think what really got me was she never thought to go to Disney before! Go Figure!

Once it's in your blood, it stays there!

You are not alone!

I feel excited helping other plan their trip but there is always a little voice in there saying I wish it was me ;)
dont feel bad, you are definately not alone :D

Oh sure. I love hearing about others taking the trip, but that little green monster inside is saying "hey, what about us?";)

Last trip I made a promise to myself not to let more than 3 years go between trips. That was in 2000. We'll be there in 20 days, so up to now, I'm pretty good at keeping that promise.:D

I think my neighbors feel that way about us...thats why they are coming with us this time, LOL! ;)

Seriously though, of course lots of us feel that way. Its only normal. Who wouldnt want to be going to WDW? :D

I am always envious when I know someone is going to WDW!! The co-owner of my Real Estate Office left this morning and I actually checked on their flight status!!! But it felt good to know that my friends were there and hopefully having a great time!!

GRAYWIFE,

Are you a fellow Realtor? Me too! Business is unbelievable here, so it's making it easier to save up those pennies for WDW!

My team partner is going in September, and I am threatening to stuff myself into her suitcase! LOL Unfortunately, we can't both be on vacation at the same time, or our business would totally fall apart!

Oh, I know exactly how you feel! My sister and her husband are there right now, and I'm going crazy! They've called a few times while they've been gone, and when I'm through talking to her I have to head straight to the computer to continue "Planning" my own trip. It's the only way I can keep myself from dying of jealousy! (Isn't that just terrible?!?!?!)

Not only do I feel jealous when people go, I feel bad for them that they don't plan their vacations as well as all of us. I usually hear about it when people come back and it seems like they just didn't get as much out of it as they could. I always try to help people plan before they go, giving them books, pamphlets, web sites and I feel badly when they don't follow through and make good plans. So, not only am I jealous, I'm feeling..... hmm, I'm not sure what I would call it - "Disney superior", maybe. Anyone else feel that way too??

My neighbors said the same thing!!!

The night before we left, we were loading up the MV under the street light (LOL) and my neighbor came out and caught us in the act! They knew we were going, because they always get our mail but I still felt busted.

We go every year, and they are definitely going next year as they said they were so jealous and their kids were upset too and every day that got our mail was torture! I'm helping them plan also!

Oh yes, I always feel like that. I have to stop myself overloading them with advice, because I know they don't want or appreciate it, but I just keep thinking, I'm sure you'll have a nice time, but if you would just listen to me you could have a "Great" time!

My good freind and workout partner came in telling me that her dad got her and all of her family a free Disney Land/Sea Cruise. She was asking me all the questions and had me do an itinerary and while I was excited talking about Disney with her..I was very sad for me. Then, about a month later, the FTP came out and we booked it. We are actaully going before her, but I know when she leaves..even though it is two weeks after I get back..I will be sad for me again.

The thing that really gets me with her trip..she is one of four..all kids their spouses and kids were invited trip 100% covered and only two families are taking them up on the offer! So I asked.."What about me???!!!" Her father thought I was joking. Go figure!

I also get jealous about other people going. What's even worse is that when we are there checking in I am smiles from ear to ear, but when we are leaving I just can't stand to look at people that are walking to the pool or going to the parks. :(

How terrible!!! :o

I have to bite my tongue! I have one dear friend whose husband just won't take them. I kept e-mailing him info on the FTP. I have another who tried to go so budget minded that she made some mistakes (IMHO). And she didn't have to worry about $$ to the extent she did. This after I spent hours talking to her.

I really try not to sound DSp, but it pains me to see people go and have no idea of what they're getting into! How 'bout those who are going and still call MK WDW?! Argh!

I don't know it all, but I know where to go to get the info!! :D

Jealous, no. But pained when they get to go and don't know what they're doing! Almost wasteful!

I feel the same way everytime i hear of someone going to WDW i get really sad wishing it was me. We got back in May from our first trip to WDW and i have not been able to think of anything else. Already planning a trip back for April 2004 . Even when i get on these boards and see peoples countdowns i get jealous wishing it was time for us to go. lol

I am amazed at the number of Brits (I'm from Scotland ) that hardly even think about what they'll do in their 2 week holiday, far less plan it !!!!!

I spend hours on-line searching out the best hotels, car hire, shops , restaurants etc........... well before we leave.

My family are bored now with me telling them all the snippets I find out but i know they will be glad I've done it when we arrive.

So many Brits think it'll be like 2 weeks in Spain .......and then are staggered by the sheer size of everything !!!!! Everything is BIG , from cars to meal portions to houses to WDW.........and everything is so CHEAP compared to the UK.

I love it all........see you in 112 days ............
