I feel sad about Lindsay Lohan

Which is strange for me because usually I'm a big advocate of put your big girl panties on (for lack of a better expression) and handle your problems. For some reason her situation makes me feel bad for her. So much promise - I think she showed much talent way back when she played both parts in The Parent Trap and it's all gone down the tube. Bad parents, drug probems - just watched an Access Hollywood segment talking about her drug report, she's on some dental pain killer that her Dad is saying is so much stonger than morphine . . . and she doesn't have a clue about reality.

I guess I think a talented young person is a terrible thing to waste. I hope she survives and comes around but it so doesn't look good for her.

Once before I had a kidney stone and when they gave me the morphine, it didn't help at all so they swapped to the duladid, so yes - it's definitely stronger than morphine. Not sure what kind of dental work she would have done that she'd need duladid for it.
I do feel bad for her as well.

Yes - that's what it is called! Not sure she's having any dental work done now, maybe she has a doc that will just give it to her.

It seems like the people in her life that should have been looking out for her (like parents) have helped cause the problems - I think that's incredibly sad. I really feel sorry for the girl. She's a mess but I don't think she gets all the blame for that. So many use parents etc as an excuse - this time it really was a huge cause.

Drug addiction is tough. I feel sorry for anyone facing that challenge.
She reminds me a little bit of Drew Barrymore who had major problems with drugs/drinking and a mom who encouraged the partying. Drew was fortunate. Not everyone is as lucky.

Ah, maybe that's legitimate then, the dental drug. It's so easy to doubt her.

I hope the jail sentence will shake her up (assuming she'll serve some time)and get her to take control, that whole bottom out thing - but honestly she seems so far gone that I don't know if she will ever straighten out - that's why it makes me sad. I'm afraid she will finish self-destructing and that's a shame.

I agree with you, I don't think she wants help I think that she feels she is above it all, and because she is a "celeb" she can do what she wants. But then again, I can't blame her for that, because that is pretty much how it works, they get what they want.

I think allot of people are done with her nonsense ... she got the DUI (or whatever it was) in 2007 ... those classes should have been completed before 2008 ... to stand and tell the Judge that she was in CANNES (2010) for her career ... WHAT CAREER? She is not doing anything, no one has hired her for any movie roles and from what we read she is in debt.

And I absolutely believe the message on her nails was for the court. PERIOD.

Now I read her Atty has resigned from her case.

I don't feel sad/bad for her at all. I think she is a spoiled rich brat who thinks she is above the consequences that were just handed to her on a silver platter. I am hopeful that this will be a wake-up call for her, and that her court-ordered rehab stint will help her with her addiction issues and make her realize that her actions have consequences... just as they do for the rest of us non-Hollywood types.

I felt sorry for her in the beginning. But, when she started to not take the seriousness of her situation as motivation to get her act in gear, that is when my opinion of her changed. She has more resources than most to turn her life around and what the court asked of her was mild considering what she was charged with and yet she still thought it was a joke. I really do hope that she has to be in jail for 90 days and doesn't have the time shortened like others - maybe that time will set her on a better path. I really do hope that she wants help and does change for the better.

My DS, age 16, just had his wisdom teeth taken out last month. He was prescribed prescription-strength ibuprofen and vicodin. He did take his ibuprofen every few four hours as presrbied for close to a week. He took ony vicodin for his first three nights after the procedure. There is some pain with wisdom teeth removal, and am unclear if that is the dental work she had done, but for her to be on heavy-duty pain killers after a few weeks seems very unnecessary to me.

I'll give you she's a disrespectful, self absorbed brat - guess I have some empathy about how she got that way.

I think her parents should be going to jail and Lindsey should be committed to some kind of strict residential rehab for a significant period of time, to help her - I don't think that's an option though.

Trish, she very graphically had someone paint (*) on her middle finger nail and then proceeded to have her nails up to her face throughout the entire hearing, rubbing her face and making sure that hand with the message was pointing towards the Judge.

She definitely KNEW what she was doing. GAMES. PERIOD. And now she is trying so hard to back peddle from it by tweeting all this crap to the world.
