I feel sad about Lindsay Lohan

I also feel bad. Truthfully, I think the way this poor young beautiful mess of a girl is being objectified is absolutely obscene. My biggest gripe is how hypocritical Hollywood is behaving towards her. I mean every other person in that town seems to be an out of control conceited addict yet the media machine tends to gloss over most of them, why are they throwing Lindsey under the bus?

Lindsey is beautiful and talented. I am really pulling for her and would love to see her rise up from the ashes like Robert Downey Jr did. He was a beautiful and talented catastrophic mess, gifted but running full speed at a wall and he managed to pull himself together enough to function, I can only hope Lindsey can do the same.

What can I say, I have a soft spot for people who stumble into life gifted but with life stacked against them. Personally, I draw the line for sympathy when these sorts cross over and hurt other people but as long as they are only hurting themselves I remain compassionate and root for them to overcome.

Eh. I feel for anyone who struggles with addiction but my sympathy for her is pretty much gone. She was a cute kid who made a hit movie and her parents rode the gravy train, giving in to whatever she wanted and creating a monster. They are still making excuses for her:sad2: The ting on her nails just shows you waht a spoiled, disrespectful brat she is. I never saw all the so-called talent in her either. I mean, Meryl Streep she is not.

Now, Britney on the other hand, her I felt for. I really think she has some mental health stuff going on but she seems to have gotten her act together this time. I hope so.

The few people I've known with addiction problems were/are just as self absorbed, selfish and clueless when it comes to the reality of a situation as Lindsey - so I guess I see it as more of an addiction thing than a rich, celebrity thing. I've also seen first hand how liberally CA at least deals with adults that break the law repeatedly - it's not just for celebs. Apparently it's for anyone that can hire a decent lawyer.

Nope, no sympathy or pity from me.

She made this bed and she can lie in it. She has been busted for DUI, with drugs, carjacking a car, reckless driving. She is a danger to herself and those around her.

Of course, she won't take any personal responsibility. That would make to much sense. Instead, she blames everyone else and plays the poor pity me card. Her ego is huge and someone needs to smack her upside the head and get her back to reality. Hopefully this jail sentence and rehab will do it.

In regards to her parents, they are pathetic. They didn't instill any discipline in her, just catered to her every whim so that they could keep the money rolling in. What mother is going to take her underage daughter to a club and allow her to drink till 3 in the morning?

Lindsay is the ultimate snowflake. :sad2:

I feel more sorry for her sister who was living with her. She is like 16, and why would she be living with Lindsay? Was she sent there to supervise her older sister, or is their mom so completely out of it she thinks Lindsay can supervise the little sister. Crazy. The mom and dad are nutjobs, it's like Lindsay never even had a chance.....

No sympathy for her. She will see her 90 day jail stay reduced to 20 or less. Won't learn anything and be back in trouble next year.

That's it! You hit the nail on the head, I feel sad for her because she was a bright, talented girl who really never had a chance given the situation she was in. She has selfish, self absorbed parents who used her for the money and fame. What a waste. How many of us could have come out of that situation without some serious issues? Not to mention everything being amplified by the media coverage and the world watching your every move. I know I'd have been mortified if some mistakes I made as a young person had been splashed across the news. I kinda think no wonder she was looking for an escape, not an excuse but I can understand it. I hope she can finally pull it out but I have serious doubts she will make it :( and that's sad.

I wonder who would be worse to live with for the younger girl though - Lindsey or Dina? :confused3 a no win situation again.

I feel bad, I think she is an addict and needs help.

I saw a bit of the Parent Trap the other night and she looks so young, healthy, and bright. It also made me sad because Natasha Richardson is in that movie too.

Neither one can be good...Look how well Dina parented Lindsay....Isn't there a grandmother or someone? Think of the things Ali must have seen in her life, it's no wonder she looks like 40 something. Hopefully If Lindsay actually has to go to jail and rehab she will get out and realize, my poor sister, and then she won't have to go down the same crazy, sad road as Lindsay. The whole situation seems like a good reason to never let your kids be child actors, very few come out normal or even alive:sad2:

Not to mention, on the Hollywood party scene drugs are everywhere. They pass them out like party favors.

I remember watching an interview with Ozzy Osbourne's son. He was talking about the easy access to pills. He said he would show up at a club, grab a table and everyone would put their pills out on the table and trade. Percocets, Percodans, Adderall, Valium, Xanax, Ritalin, whatever they could get their hands on. They would just pop a handful of whatever and drink.

When the access it that easy and free (or cheap) I can understand how the temptation is strong.

i dont feel sorry for her she is not above the law. what do you mean put her big panties on? she doesnt wear any

I feel sad for her.
She is totally out of control and unfortunately, the adults in her life are mostly enablers.
I think she needs to go to jail and then to rehab - hopefully for more than 90 days of rehab.

Our neighbor’s son was working near the theater where the movie “Prairie Home Companion” was filmed in 2005/2006. He was excited to know that his building was being used as a ‘off-stage’ area for the actors and they would be sharing the elevator, etc. with the actors. At that time, Lindsay Lohan still looked pretty good on screen, so he was expecting to see a hot young starlet close up. He said he was shocked the first time he saw her - she chain smoked all the time and her face was full of wrinkles and she was constantly unhappy looking. He said she looked like Meryl Streep’s a-little-bit-younger sister, not her daughter (which was her part in the film).
Sad that someone with so much potential has hit so low at age 24!
Hopefully, she will get her act together and turn herself around like Drew Barrymore did - that was a girl that people thought was done at a young age too. So, there is some hope for LL, if she can break away from the drugs and alcohol.

I don't feel sorry for her at all. She is a grown up who refuses to take responsibility for her actions and continues to expect to be given a free pass because she is famous. I don't think she really believed they were going to actually put her is jail this time. I think she expected another 80 hour joke rather than a real sentence. She needs to grow up and accept the consequences of her actions and until she is fored to do it this behavior will continue.

Drug addiction is tough. I feel sorry for anyone facing that challenge.
She reminds me a little bit of Drew Barrymore who had major problems with drugs/drinking and a mom who encouraged the partying. Drew was fortunate. Not everyone is as lucky.

I agree. Too many of these child stars are nothing more than meal tickets for their parents. They collect their checks without doing their jobs.

:thumbsup2 Yup - MTE. Too bad she won't serve the entire 90 days.

Or she'll end up dead, that's the sad part. I'm not sorry for her, of course there has to be consequences - but sad about the situation. Just hoping some self preservation instinct kicks in or she's going to go down.

I think she had potential, if she'd be raised well by adults that loved, guided, and protected her - maybe she would have been another Meryl Streep. Now, she's in a heap of trouble and a total mess.

what do you mean put her big panties on? she doesnt wear any

Well, you got me there!

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if I turned on the TV tomorrow & she was dead. She's in such a bad place, it's sad to see anyone in that situation.

Her parents are a joke - I am all for being an adult & personal responsibility, but with those 2 losers she had a raw deal from Day 1.
